Don't be surprised if Minshew is traded in off-season instead of Nick Foles

Interesting that a glorified RB leads the NFL in TD passes from inside the pocket. How could that be

This is the same guy who repeatedly told us Mason Rudolph was the best QB in the draft and Lamar Jackson was the worst in the class. How on earth is Lamar ruining the game? Because he's different than these slow QBs?! If the Jags were 11-2 with Lamar, you would be up in here saying he's ruining the league? I like you dude but this may be your worst take of all time. How could that be Yeah, I was just going to say that Lamar has grown exponentially as a passer. Teams may figure out how to limit some of his running, but his passing game has really developed a great deal. Including him passing from inside the pocket. I've seen him (including yesterday during the Bills game) stand inside the pocket (even while taking a hit) and making throws that needed to be made. The Ravens really have done an excellent job of not only tailoring their offense to his skill set but also helping developing him as a passer. He went from several people questioning can he throw, to becoming a much better passer and making good throws in and outside the pocket. I believe he now has like 28 passing TD's on the season. That's what can happen though when a young QB gets the support/development that he needs from a team, who decides to believe in him and help him. I think that falling to the Ravens was one of the best things that happened to Lamar. He went to a good, stable organization with good coaching and this is what has happened as a result. He could legitimately lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl in his second season.
I don't know what the plan is with Foles, but should he make it to training camp next year, it'll be interesting to get a good look at him having worked extensively with our receivers while not being gun shy fresh off a clavicle injury that's forcing him to underthrow several passes.

We could always trade Minshew to New England so the Pats can replace the GOAT with the next GOAT.

Like the Bears. (Which is a team I have seen several people speculating this season that he could be traded to/fit on) I think that if Minshew was on the Bears, that not only would their record not be worse than what it is now, that it would probably be better. They could have had a better shot of making the playoffs. During some of their games earlier this season where Mitch really struggled, they just needed average QB play to win those games. Minshew could have given them at least that, if not better especially with Matt Nagy being the type of coach that he is. Matt has tried to help Trubisky (and in the last couple of weeks has been able to do so). But because of his play/limitations at this point, wasn't able to get much out of him. And that caused him to distrust him, which determined the types of plays he was/wasn't calling on the field. These last couple of weeks he has given Mitch a bit more leeway, and I thought this past Thursday's game was a good example of Matt Nagy really maximizing Mitch's skill set. That was one of the best games I have seen Trubisky play. I wonder what he could do with someone like Minshew. I think he could do more with him .Plus the Bears have a really good defense that could help keep things afloat, if Minshew struggled at times. But maybe wouldn't have carry as much of the load as they have had to do with Trubisky. He worked extensively all off season with them this year. It's not like he was signed and injured week 1.
As a Seinfeld fan the OP comments ring true. Remember when George Costanza decides to do the complete opposite of what he thought was right. Everything was 180 degrees from what he thought.
I think the FO should adopt George’s philosophy. Do exactly the opposite of what they feel is right. Can it be any worse than what we’ve seen!!!! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
