Josh Freeman Can Be Had For A 7Th Round Pick

#1

John Clayton just said it on NFL live

I will do it take a flyer on him, he is in the final year of his deal so your not locked into the contract, plus he said he will redo his deal to make it lower.

Also said if he is cut he can be had for the min. salary, if that happens and we dont even try to sign him, its no doubt we are tanking the year.

I doubt Freeman is gonna come in a wreck our chances for the 1st pick, but at least we will have a real NFL QB

No but he can lead us from having the worst offense in NFL history

Would he be in the long term plans for the team? Unlikely so there is no point. He'd be better off going somewhere like Arizona.

Its not always about long term, you try players out and see where it goes, its 7th round pick or a min signing for a 1st round talent QB, we would be stupid to not try with our QB situation

If he is outright released, then yeah, give him a shot.  Otherwise, no...not worth a pick.

Not even if he's released

I'd love to have him if this was last year and Geno Smith was the BAP. This year? I'd love for us to end up with Teddy Bridgewater instead

The club has already expressed that they aren't interested.

I wouldn't want Freeman here even if they were giving us a 7th rounder. This is not a situation he needs to be traded into for one thing. Two don't trade away picks. Any of them. Three he's not the future at QB, he's not a franchise guy, or even a future backup. He needs to go somwehere with strong veteran leadership at the QB position for him to sit behind temporarily. Arizona would be one.

I'd rather have the worst offense in history that leads us to a qb than a competent offense that leads us to pick 6 or something.

You're not trying a guy out if you are giving up a draft pick for him. You don't give up a pick for a two month rental.

Once again....someone on this board just CANT TAKE that something GREAT  (not just good) might happen to the Jacksonville Jaguars (Bridgewater)....

Nope, they just gotta find a way to try and ruin it (acquire Freeman) so instead of having the worst record, we win juuuust enough games to put us at 3rd or 4th from the top pick.

Just a brilliant idea, mediocrity lovers....

Can't you just be patient for 12 friggin more games and the prize should be ours?!?!?!??

Gotta get them extra meaningless wins in a losing season ta be happy I guess...

Even if Freeman is a free agent, Jax should avoid him.

Bingo. I think signing him in the offseason would be an ideal situation for Cincinnati.
