Russ Lande lowers the boom on this year's QBs

#1

Lande was on the show and they began talking about what the Texans may do.

The discussion quickly landed on the topic of QBs.

Lande was directly asked about Bridgewater and what he was getting a sense scouts are feeling about him.

He answered that every scout he'd talked to back to last fall and since then, state that they liked him but didn't love him.  They aren't sold that he's top 10 material.

In fact, he stated he hasn't found a scout yet who says there's a single premier/franchise candidate in this draft class.  The only one mentioned as the closest is Manziel.

That being said, he says Bortles is "very good" but not a day one starter.  He may need more work than some... opinions are split widely on Bortles.

He suggested that if the Texans decide to pass on Clowney in favor of need, that he wouldn't be surprised if the QB they favor is Bortles as they're one of the teams in favor of him.

If it was up to Lande no QB other than Luck would be a first rounder the past 5 years.

Most of the time that's how it should be.

Id like to add, only fools would believe lande but vino makes a good point. If the collective bargaining agreements were in place only luck and bridgewater would be 1st rounders in the last 5 years

Keep in mind that bridgewater was the only qb given a 1st round grade on dave/gus`s board

Did they say that or just wishful thinking?  If they actually said that outloud in front of people with microphones and cameras, that was really dumb.

Russ Lande also had Ryan Nassib as his #1 overall player last year...not just #1 QB but first overall. He wound up going 110 overall.
