2014 NFL Mock Draft: Analyzing Northern Illinois vs Eastern Illinois for Jimmy Garoppolo

Quote:Please gtfo. You have no sources, you're making crap up. Absolutely no one knows the position of players on our draft boards and the only reason I believe Bridgewater is the only QB we have a first round grade on is because I've read multiple people say it. If you're going to continue lying then I'm just going to start ignoring you.You can ignore me all you want, I don't really care. Just telling people what the deal actually is. Clowney is ahead of Bridgewater but not by much We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I see his (Garoppolo) ceiling as somewhere just below someone like Flacco or Ryan. I think he'd be a good get in the third and a reach high in the second.
I wouldn't use anything higher than 5th of Jimmy G. I am still waiting for him to impress me.

Quote:I haven't scouted Winston yet (obvious reasons) but I don't know if he's as good as the hype. Mobility isn't what it's reputed to be, and his long release is a big question mark. I like Mariota over him. Honestly, I really don't trust Winston. I'll be interested to see how he ends up next year after teams have a full year of tape on him. I don't like Mariota or Hundley either--honestly, I feel like this year's QB draft is stronger than next year's. The wild card is Winston--but if you want a mobile QB, take Manziel over Hundley and Mariota, because IMO he's better than both. And Bridgewater is better than all 3.
Manziel is a better playmaker than both, but in terms of tool in the shed both Mariota and Hundley have him beat.
Winston struggled down the stretch as teams finally started to get pressure in his face, but he never wilted and it's important to remember that he was only a (redshirt) freshman. He had an amazing season and there is still tons of room for him to grow. He has the most arm strength of the three, has good mobility for his size, can shake off tackles like Big Ben/Luck/Bortles, and plays in a prostyle coming out...and the fact his personality is a perfect match for Gus is just a plus. I mean, Winston has Gus Juice by the gallon. And of course, he'd have the local star aspect to him. He's exactly the type of QB Dave seems to like and i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up the number 1 player on our board next season, especially if we still don't have a QB. <p style="text-align:center;">But that same man can get lost in the sauce."
Winston is a good prospect -- but if we're in any position to actually get him, Gus Bradley won't be here anymore I think.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Even the season is a bad one. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff.
I loved Garoppolo back when no one had heard of him and he was a day 3 prospect. Now that he is maybe a 2nd rounder I will have to pass. He is just another QB purgatory prospect to me. Which in the 4th round is really good, in the 2nd or 3rd round there just not enough upside in him.
