Russ Land believes Aaron Murray could be a 2nd day option for the Jags

Quote:"Bad news???" I don't think any of the ones listed have a real shot at being a successful nfl qb. Mett has a chance.
Quote:Bam, didn't even get through one full page before the laughable Murray/Brees comp popped up. Remember every short QB is Drew Brees or Russell Wilson. Every tall, lanky corner is Richard Sherman. Every 5'8 WR is Steve Smith. Every 5'6 RB is MJD. Every QB not named Luck is not a first rounder. Remember these things and you shall live a long and prosperous life. Quote:Bam. Didn't even get through one full page before the laughable QB purgatory reference.Do you have a better phrase for a QB who is good enough to keep a team out of hell, but not good enough to get it to heaven? If so I'm all ears, but it's pretty much the perfect phrase for the Schaub/Dalton/Sanchez/Garrard/Smith type of QB, and yes most likely the ceiling for McCarron/Murray/Garoppolo/Fales too. I was joking with HIGH SCORE. You can call it whatever you want. It's not a bad term. Overuse of it to describe every QB you don't like in the draft will probably get you a few more joke responses, though. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! If I got a QB that wound up being a mid level starting QB in round 4 or later I'd be pretty darn happy with that value. Heck, statistically it's really the best you can hope for with any QB taken after the 1st round without being extremely greedy. Quote:Aaron Murray is kinda a Matt Ryan-lite so who knows.More like Case Keenum. "A man with no sauce is lost.

Quote:Bam, didn't even get through one full page before the laughable Murray/Brees comp popped up.Why do you find my comparison laughable??? Murray lacks decision making and pocket awareness Brees has, but I was specifically referring to his release, throwing motion, and the trajectory of their passes.......do you not see the resemblance? Drew Brees: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6iv8WVzbXEg Aaron Murray: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=piAUVTjOIgU Quote:Why do you find my comparison laughable??? First, please don't use highlight videos if you are trying to evaluate something. They literally tell you nothing, and you lose a lot of credibility. Second, sure there's a resemblance to Brees in his mannerisms, in the same way that Logan Thomas resembles Cam Newton. Heck, if we're just talking resembles then Keenum and Ty Detmer resemble Brees a fair amount too, and they are much closer comparisons to Murray than any of them are to Brees, even as pre draft prospects.
They are both highlight videos.....
It wasn't really an evaluation, just saying they basically throw and deliver the ball in a similar fashion. There is a thread with all Murray's game tape from every snap.....I can assure you nothing is different as far as this aspect. Didn't realize you needed actual game film to see how someone throws a football...... |
