Who will be the surprise 'faller' this year?

#1

For example, this time last year Kiper had Manti Te'o and DaMontre Moore at 1-2 overall in his mock and both of them wound up 'falling' precipitously.

My guess for this year is Anthony Barr. I guess that's kinda the trendy call, but the more I watch the less he impresses. I think he'll drop to the late 1st, possibly even into the 2nd. He's fast, that's kinda all. He still doesn't know how to use his hands, leverage, or how to transfer his speed into power. He still has the potential he's always had, but it's pretty worrisome that he didn't really get any better over the course of an entire year.

One of the biggest fallacies of evaluation is the assumption that every young or raw player will get better in time. That's why a lot of evaluators put projectability into a different score completely aside from the players draft grade.

He pales in comparison to Mack, and I think he is behind Ealy and Ford too.

If you are only talking about big drops like Geno Smith, I can't name anybody. But Jadeveon Clowney could drop out of the top five and that would shock a lot of people.

I see Trent Murphy falling to late second or 3rd. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Cyril Richardson fall to the fourth after his poor Senior Bowl fiasco. And off the top of my head...maybe Carr to the 3rd? Just snowballing on Carr though

Couldn't agree more. If we can't get Bridgewater, I hope we can trade back with Atlanta and get Mack. Barr just kind of runs straight and hopes the lineman falls over or something; how he got so many sacks is baffling.

Marquise Lee.  This WR class is pretty deep.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

You know nothing if you think Clowney drops out the top 5.

My guess is Bortles. I think he drops to the 20's somewhere. I was going to say Barr but he was already said.

What is it with you and Clowney?

As for the question...I wouldn't be surprised to see Bridgewater fall.

Agree to both, as both were originally being considered as mid-late 1st rounders. Trent Murphy was very average at the Senior Bowl, more like a 3rd round talent there. Richardson was getting beat regularly at the Senior Bowl, and also looks now as a 3rd round talent at best.

The biggest drop for me is Tajh Boyd. This guy has been in free fall over the past year. I think he'll be a 6th or 7th round pick now.

Tajh dropping doesn't really fall under the "surprise" category.

Its too early for a poll like this. We still have combine later this month, then FA, then pro days etc.

But if I had to guess right now. I would say that Manziel, Bortles, Carr, and possibly Mettenberger are all taken before Bridgewater because teams don't see any untapped potential with him and it doesn't help that he also didn't play against the toughest of competition in college.

My personal opinion is he is still my #2 guy as far a QB prospects go in this years draft. At this moment in time I feel Manziel is #1 as he has more talent IMO.

No, that will be the sound of your ego being crushed if we don't.
