With the 38th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select....

Trent Murphy - OLB Stanford

Eagles have need for another OLB in their 3-4 defense. And while we also need secondary help at CB and Safety, we feel fixing this position to have an added rusher is more important. We are usually top of the league in sacks and the past few seasons we have been anything but. Pairing Trent Murphy with Trent Cole was something we felt we couldn't pass up.

With the 39th pick

The Oakland Raiders select:

Odell Beckham - WR - LSU

[Image: Odell%2BBeckham%2BIdaho%2Bv%2BLSU%2BfX9QEAozj2il.jpg]

COMPARES TO: Cecil Shorts, Jacksonville Jaguars - Beckham and Shorts are both exciting players with the ball in their hands and have shown steady improvements catching the ball over the years. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/playe...beckham-jr

With the 40th pick, the San Francisco 49ers select TCU CB Jason Verrett

With Eric Wright and Tarrell Brown as UFA, and Carlos Rogers as a potential cut to save salary, the Niners desperately need help in the secondary. Verrett is a bit on the smallish side, but nobody questions his ability to be able to cover.

With the 41st overall pick, the Bills take Cyril Richardson, OG, Baylor.

Sitting pat has allowed the Bills to fill two of their major needs--OL and ILB. Woot!

With the 43rd over-all pick, the New York Giants select:

Allen Robinson - WR - Penn St.

With Nicks walking, New York needs a WR opposite of Cruz. Robinson (Thunder) and Cruz (Lightning) remind me of a McCardell/Smith pairing.

The St. Louis Rams are on the clock.

With the 44th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select.....

.....Davante Adams, Wide Receiver, Fresno State.

Allen Robinson was the pick here, unfortunately he was chosen by the Giants one pick prior. Davante Adams and Brandin Cooks are the top two remaining wide receivers, however, Cooks similarities to Austin along with Adams physical traits help tilt it in his favor. Davante Adams may have had huge numbers in a spread offense, but he has the natural gifts to be a solid starting NFL wide receiver. He possesses great hands and is able to win jump balls more often than not. Adams may not be a burner, but his speed is quick enough to create some separation on deeper balls. The Rams get a good, young WR to pair with Tavon Austin and a player who will help Sam Bradford develop into the QB St. Louis envisioned.

With the 45th pick in the draft the Detroit Lions select.....

Kyle Fuller-CB-VA Tech

Detroit desperately needs secondary help, especially since they announced the resigning of Raiola yesterday which will solidify the center position for atleast another year. Really was hoping Verrett would fall a few more picks because I viewed him as top 3 corner and first round pick. I also considered Dee Ford but unless we switch to a 3-4 he doesn't fit our scheme very well. However, Fuller is an excellent consolation prize and performed very well during college. He has good size around 6'0" and 190 lbs. The only knock on him is can he stay healthy and I am willing to take that gamble.

We are thrilled that the player we targeted at 38th was still available. We needed a Slot Receiver and we got the top slot Receiver in the draft, plus a third round pick.

With the 55th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals
select

Lamarcus Joyner, CB

Florida State

His height is a slight concern, but I think he's got the talent to help the Ginger Avengers™
win!

The Kansas City Chiefs
are now on The Clock™

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

With the 56th pick of the draft, the San Francisco 49ers select S Jimmie Ward from Northern Illinois.

[Image: 12-03-northern%20illinoispg-vertical.jpg]

With Donte Whitner probably leaving as a free agent, the Niners need another replacement as they did with Reid last year.

Ward is another smaller defensive back like Verrett, but it would give the Niners a nice young duo manning the back. Neither Reid or Ward are your prototypical SS, but they could make it work.

With the 57th Pick The SD chargers select,

Brandon Linder, G, Miami

Phillip rivers was sacked way to many times in the big games this season and it's not hard to imagine how he would have done if he had time to throw the ball. This selection will also help the emergent Ryan Matthews running the football and help the SD offense because more rounded.
