NFL.com - Jags have had Leonard Fournette trade talks for month

Of the teams interested, the Chiefs make the most sense. Fournette would be a beast in that system. We all know Fournette needs a lane to gain momentum, with Mahomes and all those outside weapons he won't see stacked boxes at all. Would be a nice fantasy pick up if that happens.

This is the problem with everyone we had traded away. We are giving away playing who are producing at there current positions. Yan, LF, Bouye, Arob, Ramsey, TGip all good players but we dont have anyone that will step in a replace the production. We have had high draft picks for the last 15 years and have only really had a solid team of all pro caliber players in our 2016, 2017 years. If we was to have Mahomes as our quarterback right now do we get Andy Reid too and all the weapons that's in Kansas City? It's like we ignore the fact that we have a bad coaching staff here in Jacksonville and we had a bad coaching staff here in Jacksonville for quite some time. What about Doug Marrone or anybody else on this coaching staff has a history of developing players especially at the QB position? We need to stop living in Fantasyland and acting like we can plug-in players from other teams and put them in our situation and everything would have been all right because of it. I'm sorry to tell you that my friend but that's not how the world works ![]() (04-19-2020, 04:53 PM)leopold332002 Wrote:(04-19-2020, 12:33 PM)SeldomRite Wrote: The salary cap is the problem, namely the bad QB management made it so that they couldn't keep the team together. Let's say they draft Mahomes instead of Fournette, then the team never does a bad deal with Bortles, and never follows that with an even worse deal for Foles. Then the team probably won a Superbowl in 2017 instead of coming up short because of a QB you can't count on, and all the guys you mentioned are still here because most of the cap isn't being taken up by a couple of horrific QB contracts. What make people like you misinform and reactionary because y'all make blatant statement and presented as facts. I'm just tired of people like you that said we had Mahomes or Watson we wouldn't be in this situation as if the problems on this team don't go beyond player personnel. How is your boy Bortles doing?

If that's the best rebuttal you you can have towards me then you are being childish if not cartoonish as a person. Blake failed and was a bust here and I had admit that I was wrong on him and move on from it. Let me throw a clown question at you my man where is all the Nick Foles love now that he didn't make it with this franchise either and if some of y'all going to have the same type of love for Gardner Minshew once he's not the quarterback for our team two years from now? I don't think Fournette's running style has fit our offense. He is a traditional I back. If we are going to keep him we need to get him a real FB. Which is why I think we should trade him.

Makes the draft interesting. Told you all last year and the year before. I liked Sony Michel and Josh Jacobs. Would have been adequate replacements.
I think ideally they will work out a trade with him anc Ngakoue. And I simply cannot see Caldwell sitting on multiple picks between RD4 - RD6. They could easily move back up at some point or stand still and draft two RB's in this draft. Would be fine with a combination of players. Swift and Taylor at 20 now comes into play. Akers in RD2 or RD3 comes into play. I would look at McFarland Jr., Warren and Dillon too. (04-19-2020, 07:24 PM)Caldrac Wrote: Makes the draft interesting. Injury concerns and maturity concerns early with him were enough to turn me away from him. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Jags have had Leonard Fournette trade talks for month
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001...-for-month Leonard Fournette has been the center of trade talks for the Jaguars for more than a month, but, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said, Jacksonville circled back with teams over the last three days.
Really...I don't care one way or the other. I don't think he's a great running back, but conversely I think there are a lot of people that undervalue him on this board.
If they can't get a decent deal, I think you hold onto him this year. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If not, run him into the ground this year so Armstead, Ozigbo, and others who might compete in 2021 are fresh.

Advanced metrics said he wasn't good, in hindsight it looks like they were probably signaling reality. |
