Shaq Quarterman - Rd 4, Pick 140

He will get on the field regularly.  There's no way Schobert plays all 16 games.  All players get dinged up and miss games.

Could have had him with that 6th Dave was saving

Schobert has missed 3 games in 4 seasons due to injury. A backup Mike who is also terrible in coverage isn't someone who is going to get on a field regularly

Sure he doesn’t have sideline to sideline speed.

But neither did Poz.

They both make up for it with instincts.

Because if we are going to transition to a more 3-4 base, we NEED LB depth both on the edge and interior run-stuffing backers.

If your LB is as bad as he is in coverage there isn't much use for him. Slow run stoppers with no coverage ability are easy to get anywhere and he will rarely if ever play.

Bad pick

You guys trash every pick. This guy will help out on special teams and will give us the type of LB needed to switch to a 3-4 defense.

Big boys up front and 4 LBs behind em. Telvin Smith was too small and blah blah blah and he turned out pretty dang good.

That's probably why he's a 4th round pick.

Another LB was a good idea, Dave just took the wrong one.

I think we actually have a great scouting department for scouting LB'S, so I trust this pick

Considering our defense will be in goal line situations more often than not, it's really not a bad pick

lmfao, know how i know you never watched miami games?

this guy is all hype, I've watched him play all 52 games, i've never missed a single miami game besides the bowl game vs la tech

he's flat out garbage, misses tackles left and right and is an incredible liability in pass coverage. He has zero lateral quickness, I can't believe he ran a 4.7 40 either but I WILL say one thing positive.

maybe just maybe once he gets real coaching he can develop into what I thought he could be. But the fact remains his freshmen year was his best, not a good sign.

Same ones that took blair brown when Kittle was still available?

Maybe our defensive focus will tip more towards the 3-4 and if so, we need as much LB depth as we can get.

Why is Caldwell going grocery shopping for Wash? This is Wash's final season here. Just pick great athletes who can fit multiple schemes when you've got a lame duck coordinator.

While I like the player, I don't like that we are drafting for depth at this point in the draft, when we should be looking for competition at starting positions.

Oh you right, I only watched 3 Miami games this season. But don't tell me that this guy is not a physical freak. He is not that slow, just an old school LB who hits hard and a very good run stopper.
I don't want to compare him to Poz, but he has the same weaknesses and strenghts than him.

He is good depth, probably picked a round too soon.

Just watched some highlights. This guy has good vision, and big hitter. Looks like a natural mike.
