It's his main tactic though.

Step 1: respond with a seemingly unconnected comment
Step 2: wait for a response
Step 3: wow everyone with his incredibly deep explanation that 100% proves his point

My guess it's a tactic he developed in college to make him seem interesting. If all else fails, being contrarian will always get that sweet attention.

hey... what can i say?

Let me rephrase. This seems like a useless road to go down. What is the point?

Because a twit posted it on Twitter it must be truthful news.

Of course, I would expect that a foreigner like you would not understand the true meaning of freedom or the greatness of our country.

Not cool. One of the posters made a good comment about it being a deterrent tactic. Once people know their ties will be slashed, they'd be less likely to drive towards the police, but, let's face it, of all the stuff I've seen going on, driving over the police has not been common. Not sure if I've seen it at all.

Even then, we shouldn't pretend this is a widespread phenomenon.

Actually not being from the country allows me to view America without bias or being a slave to your corporate political empires

Yes, your opinions seem to really come from a neutrally unbiased position.

The authorities are being less and less respectful of the media, actively and violently keeping them away from stories. I feel like someone predicted this would happen.

Maybe those fights over bias and phrasing will seem a little petty when no professional journalists, regardless of affiliation, can get to the story in the first place, won't they?

You lack bias that comes from investment. That doesn't mean you are free from bias.

Anyone can claim to be with the media now, all it takes is a camera and they are a field reporter. You can't stop and check credentials. If they are following the police instructions, that is one thing, but if they are not, it's just like a war zone, you could get shot. This sounds like were in a vehicle that wasn't marked other than a sign laying on the dash, not exactly easy to see.

Fully illustrating how far left of center his point of view resides.

The left in the US has taken a hard turn, and want to be more and more like places outside the US (ironically none of which can hold a candle to the US.)

Which, makes that viewpoint even more absurd.

Because of this bias, the left thinks we aren't left enough.  Far from the truth.  Truth is, a good deal of the party on the "right" is actually left of center.  Years of walking left to try to reach the opposite party has put what was the right at the center and even some left of center.

Of course, outside the US they don't see it this way because they've already pulled their entire spectrum far left of center.

Which, is what our left wants with us as well.  A war of attrition, smoke, and mirrors where we wake up and all of a sudden we've got an unsustainable, overreaching federal government... and we got there with baby steps over decades by both parties.  Today, we've got a ruling class of government, which keeps us distracted with tribalism.  All while both parties rob the taxpayers in plain sight, and tiptoe left towards destruction of our Republic.

I would say I'm freer of bias than those who root for one party or another like football teams, or the large tv corporation they "support", but sure I can accept your statement

Body cams were leaked. Filled in some gaps and info no one reported. Shows some poor training and actions from the rookie cops 1st there to pull his gun. Drugs were definitely an issue. Somehow he got out of the squad car after they got him in it.

It was poor policing and someone on drugs with potential mental issues that caused this. It is going to be hard to convict the 3 cops as there was even a question from one about turning him on his side since he was crashing from the adrenaline and drugs.

The senior cop may get convicted of murder but I see why he didn't want to move him. He arrived on the scene late, knows 2 cops needed backup, he somehow got out of the squad car, the 2 cops think he is on drugs, so once they got him back secure he didn't want to move him until the ambulance was there. He broke protocol and used a banned technique and didn't stop when he was secured. He also didn't protect him when he was crashing. Not sure what the murder law language is, but it may be too strict for a conviction.

It wasn't murder and any DA that tries to prosecute it that way is incompetent or compromised by the protests.

Watching that video...

George Floyd repeatedly resisted arrest. Repeatedly.

I WISH JSO was as accommodating as those officers were. JSO would have just bashed his head against the top of the car, said he was resisting with physical force, thrown him in the car and called it a day. He caused his own death by just not getting in the car. Claustrophobic? The video STARTS with him IN a car with ALL windows rolled UP.

Had a conversation yesterday with a guy about this stuff. Black guy, city worker, not dumb by any means. I said something to the effect of "Can we agree that those cops didn't start the day thinking "Man, I can't wait to kill a black guy today!" at least?" Immediate response was  "No! I think they did! It's what they all want."

How can we find common ground with that?
