‘Eskimo Pies’ To Change ‘Derogatory’ Name After Aunt Jemima Outrage

‘Eskimo Pies’ has become the latest brand  an effort to change its images following the outrage that ensued over Aunt Jemima syrup.

The frozen treat, which is owned by parent company Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, released a statement Friday announcing it would change the name, the New York Post reported.

Jacksonville was, and the slave owner was against abolishing slavery.

That's offensive to the National Organization of Women.

Both the Cow and the grab.

You should denounce yourself forthwith.

I’m waiting for an inflamed white lib to denounce their racist ancestry and post the defilement of a long dead uncle’s grave on Instagram. Spray painting BLM on the headstone earns extra exaltation points.

They are removing the Teddy Roosevelt statue in front of the museum of natural history because an Indian and Black person are behind him and he is on a horse ..... signifying they are lesser class than the former President.

Time to remove names from everything, make them all the same, use numbers only ... socialism goal

Most of my family was in Europe until the 1920s. One branch of the family was over here as early as the 1600s... but they were mostly Cherokee, and no one was participating in Jackson’s massacres or waving the traitor’s flag in 1861. Sorry. I’m sure there are [BLEEP] in my family tree, but I have no one to denounce for you.

I expect the outcry to move on to team names soon.  Goodbye Redskins, Chiefs, Indians, Warriors, Seminoles.....

Let’s see how far they’re willing to pander when it hurts their brand.

They were in Europe supporting the causes of colonialism and indigenous subjugation. How do you live with yourself?

How so? I wouldn't be so quick to discount the possibility.

But here's the thing, the use of those names (although Redskins is a little dicey) is a connotation of bravery, fierceness and perseverance. Add that to the fact that there are many Native Americans who don't take offense to use of the names.

If these teams really want to keep their names then they should follow FSU's lead and coordinate with NA groups to cultivate an image most can agree on. Not everyone will agree, but if it's beneficial to both sides, why not?

I was referring to Redskins. I’m fine with the rest but Redskins it’s pretty terrible.

Putting Warriors in the same group as Redskins is reaching prettay prettay far IMO.

Lots of alcohol. And therapy. Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night thinking of my Czech privilege.
