Before realignment, we were in the AFC Central with Pittsburgh and those games were epic. I loathed the Steelers and do to this day. For us being such a young team, the hatred between Jacksonville and Pitt built very quickly as we had their number, early in our franchise's history. That rivalry was epic, IMO. After realignment, our rivalries seemed to lose something in my eyes. I'm sorry, but the Titans/Jags rivalry always seemed forced to me. I feel like it was just something the NFL cooked up to justify realignment. What I remember is the game between the Jags and Steelers in 1997 when we were leading 24-21. The Steelers attempted a field goal to tie the game, but it was blocked and as Chris Hudson was returning the blocked kick down the sideline, Pittsburgh coach Bill Cowher cocked back his fist and looked like he was gonna punch Hudson in the face. That game was completely representative of what the Jags/Steelers rivalry was all about.

They could care less about the Bengals and don't see them as a threat. That rivalry was an invention of the NFL. When we were in the same division, I have friends that are Steelers fans. They hated us. They couldn't stand that this new team came from out of nowhere and were beating them. I remember when they told me they were glad we got moved to another division, so they wouldn't have to play us twice a year. When realignment happened in 2002, our team started a rapid descent. We've only had 4 winning seasons since that time period. To compare, we had 4 winning seasons between 1995 and 2001, before we were forced to switch divisions. In those AFC Central days, my hatred of the Steelers was higher than it was for every other team in the division. Sure, I wanted to beat those guys, but the Steelers were at another level. Then, the Oilers were...pesky. They became the tacks...and they grew into hated status. But even now, I get more of a charge when we play against the Steelers (and to a lesser extent the Ravens) than I do playing against any of our current divisional foes. It's easy to be a fan of "the game" when your team has had all of maybe 6 losing seasons since 1970, have been to 8 Super Bowls, winning 6. When the Jaguars play in Pittsbburgh, they clear out that stadium fast. I would like to see the Steelers fanbase after a 2008-2016 Jaguars level era of sucktitude. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Do you not recall Jeff Fisher stating the game in Jacksonville was like another home game. Do you not remember when the 904 sent a Jacksonville native and former Dave and Buster's employee to lure Steve McNair away from him wife and then go full on murder/suicide on him? Those games almost always had dramatic momentum swings. Later that year, when we went to Pittsburgh, we lost that game in overtime. To me...that rivalry was marked as much be a clash of cultures as much as everything. The Steelers represented the old establishment culture. The Jaguars represented the new. The Steelers were northern. The Jaguars are southern. The Steelers stuck to tried and true run the ball and stop the run. The Jaguars were about passing the ball. Now to my on topic contribution.....I hate the tacks more than I hate preseason football on Channel 47. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Can we all agree that Philly fans are the worst? Closely followed by Bills fans who are just...weird in a disturbed way.

I haven't met one nice Patriots fan though, and I've met a lot of them.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I sat on shiny aluminum bleachers in 95+ degree heat just to watch us lose. I came home looking like a lobster and feeling like fried egg. I've hated Carolina ever since.(09-17-2020, 01:59 PM)TheO-LineMatters Wrote: I never really had a hatred for the Titans. I am completely indifferent to them and always have been. They threw snowballs and booed at Santa. They actually beat up Washington's unofficial mascot Chief Zee (a famous fan of the team who dressed in Native American garb.) They have thrown D-batteries at opposing players and they have punched police horses on multiple occasions. Phillies fans are especially deranged. I remember when I heard that a Phillies fan intentionally threw up on an 11 year old girl and her father. That is beyond sick and disgusting.
Hate the titans more than I hate a hangover. But no hangovers this sunday. It's time to shock our bullys

That was something else. Tie Domi vs. Philly Fan
