NFL.Com Draft Grades Are Up

#21

Quote:So no player even comes close to a 10? Don't know what's the point of even having a grading scale like that. How Clowney or at last Greg Robinson don't grade out to at least better than an 8 is beyond me.
That was my first thought as well.  Seems pretty dumb.

The teddy comparison is legit but with Rodgers upside could go either way maybe ends up like either if he has to start right away (smith) or falls in drAft and has a place to sit for awhile like Aaron

The manziel comparison to grossman comparison is due to hype/place he went in draft before he was talked up to first rounder I originally thought he was a 2nd 3 rd rounder which is prolly where he should go I originally wAnted him with 2nd pick but seems not likely the rest of the comparison is legit with the exception of Ryan leaf where his attitude or makeup is not as bad

Last year I said if there is a possibility of a qb dropping to 2nd round then he should not be a top pick as I said with geno last year and As I feel with manziel I don't think the value is there but he is better than geno do idk

Also as a side note manziel not throwing at the combine dropped him down for me as he is not willing to compete and thinking he's got it which is not the model around here still think he's a playmaker though and a FOOTBALL player
The Alex Smith comparison is actually not legit if you have watched football for more than year.

Smith struggled with accuracy throughout his career and a makes a living off being a elusive runner

Bridgewater throws receivers (the pinnacle of top level accuracy) and is quick but not the most elusive guy out there

Bortles must be a very poor version of Big Ben then....

Quote:Im still confused on how he compared Bortles to Big Ben and Bridgewater to Alex Smith yet Bridgewater has the stronger arm of the two
Lol Bridgwater is nothing like Alex Smith, Smith was a running QB with small hands who needed years to learn how to pass, Bridgewater is a passing QB who doesnt like to run, this guy is a clown, not even getting into the Manziel comparison.

I am not even a Manziel fan and I found the comparison to be utterly ridiculous

We need a Center...

Bryan Stork from FSU has been mentioned by many as a mid to late round pick.

Draft Projection
Rounds 5-6

Bottom Line
Good-sized, bump-and-steer blocker ideally suited for a zone-blocking, slide-protection scheme. Smart, tough technician capable of serving as an interior swing backup and could eventually fend for a starting job as a pivot. Will be best developed by a patient, respectful position coach.

Interesting that he believes he's ideally suited for a zone-blocking scheme.  He could fit in well here.

Oh, ok NFL.com.

I haven't checked that one out yet, but we had this discussion the other day. Look under the Old Tom Brady video thread.

The video was a compilation of Michigan highlights. Quite a few of us agreed that McCarron, in circumspect, does have the look and feel of Brady.

None of these grades is carried out to the hundredths place.

So any pick after 65 is no better than back-up or special teamer, do I have that right?

Quote:Romo and Manziel biggest quality is to improvise and create offense in chaos. Russell Wilson is not the same type of player at all, he's got a better arm and he is way more structured than them.

Doesn't Wilson run a lot like Manziel?

Maybe there is nobody you can compare Johnny Football to.

They make the comparison because they both are extremely strong in the pocket.

You need to compare guys by their playing styles, not one small detail.

It's a pretty big deal. It's big bens greatest quality and the first thing most people think of when you mention Big Ben.

They have similar size and the only difference is Bortles doesn't throw with the same velocity.

So why not tell us why you think somebody would link McCarron to Tom Brady? This is simply drawing a comparison to what Tom Brady was thought of prior to his draft and what McCarron is thought of prior to his draft.

The similarities are overwhelming.
