If Bridgewater and Clowney go 1 & 2....

Right, because he's the first college athlete to drink alcohol.

He was being a college kid. Who cares?

I like Bortles.

Quote:Good shop...but shouldn't he be sitting on the sideline with a trainer applying ice to his knee? That's what we'll see most when johnny ego tries his cute little circus tricks against NFL d's. Contain the midget in the pocket and make him throw against coverage. ..easy W.
I don't disagree with you, but where were the people saying this about RG3? RG3 isn't much bigger and Manziel imo is a much better athlete than him but I don't recall people saying "oh he's not going to be able to run in the NFL"

i'd go mack

i think he could play the leo quite happily or if not fit in at line backer either way he is an upgrade for our front 7

i would hope we traded and got him but if we took him at three i couldn't criticise

And how effective has RG3 been since the knee injury that sidelined him....RG3 is also a much more elusive runner IMO.
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

I think Manziel is more elusive but that's just me. Half the excitement is watching him make people miss nonstop.

The way I recall it RG3 was a great pocket passer in college in addition to his athleticism. Not to mention RG3 has closer to prototypical height. I wouldn't be surprised if Manziel measures out under 6' tall at the combine.

Don't care that much for Clowney. Yeah, he's an athlete, but I'm not sure he's a player. If Teddy goes then we'll have to take a strong look at Manziel, Watkins, or Matthews

I think a lot of fans will go nuts if we draft Matthews.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I agree. I mean there's no evidence out there that proves Clowney is a player.

Clowney is a player....he has shown that.  It will be up to Gus and Dave to talk to him and see what his thought process was for last year.  His lack of the ever important sack numbers last year were not due to lack of ability.  I used to question Clowney's motor but the more I read and watch that questioning has gone away.  The man is a freak.  I questioned JJ Watt's crazy combine numbers because I claimed I didn't see them translate on the field in the Wisconsin games I watched.  While they aren't the exact same player...I see similar results coming.  Clowney is going to blow away everyone else at the combine.  If he is there at 3 the only reason I see Gus and Dave passing on him is if Clowney completely bombs the interviews.  I think Clowney has gotten a bad rap and a lot of it is unjustified.  If he has the "juice" and he's available at 3...they better take him and not look back.  If they don't I think they will end up regretting it because he's going to be a star and the amount of talent and physical ability he has does not come around every year.

If we draft Matthews, Junglecat is going to have a field day on these boards. Watkins would be nice but I would hope we would try to trade back. If not getting Barr or Mack would be good too.

You're not sure if Clowney is a player? He's by far the best player in this draft, he would've been the best player in last year's Draft as well, disruption is production, & Clowney is clearly a disruptive force on the defensive line.

If Teddy/Clowney are gone, I'd want Mack or Manziel.

Caldwell has already called Paztor the starter next year so lets end this Mathews talk.

I think we go would pick Mack but Caldwell could also be really high on Johnny. Its a toss up between those two.

Could be a smokescreen, but it's probably safe to write off Matthews. If we're taking Mack/Barr, I'd prefer we trade down. They're not top 5 picks IMO

I remember a whole lot of people saying that RG3 needed to change his running style once he got to the NFL or he would be hurt a lot. He took big hits that could have been avoided by going OOB or sliding on the norm, just like JFF.

Also, RG3 is significantly taller and way, way more muscled bound...so the worries should be a bit worse for JFF than RG3.

He's more elusive? I'd have a hard time accepting that.. I can't even remember the last time we've seen someone as elusive as Manziel.

Cam is more elusive for his size
