Well no kidding that roster was better, most of the picks weren't Gene Smith's.
Second to last Gene Smith year but I get the point.  The talented players were Shack Harris picks. It is 9 years of hell

Caldwell and Marrone are gone after this year.We are set up for new management with draft picks and cap space. I don’t even think the coaching staff are putting that much effort anymore in preparing the team. It’s gonna get uglier since we aren’t even halfway into the season. Pray that the season is cut short unless you like the Jags being the league’s punching bag

He had the opportunity to get rid of Todd Walsh in the offseason. If he had done that and gotten someone else, I think that it's a good chance the team would be in better shape. But he wants to be stuck at the hip with Todd. And it's to the detriment to the defense and the entire team.

That Gene Smith era was utterly atrocious.

This team still sucks tremendously.

I have to say, as bad as any team Gene Smith put together... this one looks worse.  We just got taken to the woodshed at home against another Bottom 5 team in the League.  Can anyone say with a straight face say they think Caldwell deserves another season?  So ridiculous....
