If Jags get Gilmore and Q. Williams...They're back in the game!

Williams would be a nice get, but he isn't going to win us any games.

Richard Seymour comes to mind immediately of the Patriots trading a player while he still had enormous trade value than risking waiting another year or two.

The only move we need to make is to get someone new to run this organization.  One player, even Trevor Lawrence, would just be a drop in the bucket.  The problem with the Jaguars is mismanagement from the top.  If you look at the list of good to great players that we have failed to retain, the list of bad contracts we have handed out, and the list of bad draft decisions, Trevor Lawrence is a little bitty speck compared to the massive long term management malpractice at the top of the organization.

Great teams go decades without drafting #1 overall.

This team isn't interested in improving during the season by trading away draft capital for veteran talent. This thing is going according to plan so far. Why would they ever consider messing that up?
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

NYJ have stated that, contrary to some public media sources, Q Williams is not on the trade block and they wish to retain him. Although I agree with FBT above, that the Jags are not likely interested in trading draft resource for aging veterans. However, Gilmore is interesting to me in that he is only due $7m or so next season, the last year in his contract, and could be a good presence in a young secondary. But, it's not going to happen. I also think the Jags will want to hold onto the draft capital in case they need to move up to get a QB.

Yah... I can't see us signing a veteran to squeeze one good season out of them at this point. Even next off-season, we need to spend our cap money in free agency with a multi-year vision. With how bad this roster is, we are 2 years from being competitive. Even if our new GM makes great decisions.
This is a results-oriented business.  There are no trophies or titles given for "moral victories" or for "winning the draft".  Our record with DC is 37-86.  6-10 is our 2nd best season in 8 years of Caldwell leadership.  These are the FACTS.

Then you want to let this season play out so that we can move forward, hopefully with a potential franchise QB to help out a new GM and coaching staff.
