What would you think of a trade for Kirk Cousins?

According to NFL.com, Washington wants a 2nd round pick for him.  http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...rk-cousins

Grab Clowney in the first and use the 2nd on Cousins, maybe?

I feel like you can acquire more talent in the Second Round of this draft than what Cousins represents. I would think poorly of this decision.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

Has giving away a high draft pick for a backup quarterback ever worked out?

Eli Manning, and that was a player trade.

Still, I wouldn't trade a pick from the first two days of the draft for anyone's backup at all.

In this circumstance, I don't necessarily have Cousins designated as a career backup.  He was a fourth rounder two years ago.  He is behind RGIII, a truly gifted athlete, on the depth chart.  I wonder if he is as good as the top qbs in this draft?  I think maybe.  Is he as good as the qbs in this draft who will be available in the 2nd round and after?  I think probably.

But, a 2nd round pick is valuable enough that you may not be able to justify spending it on any of the qbs available to us this year.  So, that's why I'm asking the question.

A third at most. A fourth rd pick would be more realistic

I'd rather take Mettenberger in round 2 than trade for Cousins. I don't think he's shown much.

Rather take Connor Shaw in the 4th.

His first year in some spot duty he looked like a steal. When given more opportunity this past season, his second year, he really didn't look that good. I don't think I would count on him to be the starter. No to a trade, especially with a 2nd round selection.

I say hell no! I don't want Cousins, he is a solid back up and thats it.

I say no thank you. Gus Bradley was in Seattle when they made that mistake. Seattle traded for Matt Flynn and then drafted Russel Wilson. Obviously shouldn't have traded for Flynn. I'm starting to like idea of getting Jimmy Garropolo in 3rd rd. Go Jaguars

If we could get him for a 4th i'd be all for it.

Yeah I wouldn't mind that we have 2 fourths and 3 5th rd picks to. Cousins reminds me of Andy Dalton

No way. The Redskins are smoking some good stuff if they think they can get a two for a guy who played poorly as a starter. Even at a fourth-round price tag, I'd pass. The talent pool in this draft is deep enough that we could land a contributor, possibly an eventual starter, with our fourth-round pick instead of spending it on a guy who looks like a career backup.
