Say the Texans take Bridgewater and St Loius takes Clowney then who would y'all want with #3 overall pick?

How many different ways can the same question be asked?

We can write Bortles/Manziel/Matthews off. Bortles is not ready, Manziel is too risky, Pasztor has been lauded. This leaves us with Mack/Barr/Watkins. Not sure how I feel about Sammy's height, and not sure which LEO candidate is better

I think Watkins is an elite prospect. Yeah he is not super tall but his routes are crisp and has sticky hands. Nice top end ability as well. Personally I think he's the third best prospect in the draft.

Watkins or Manziel, but I think we would try to trade down.
Only a chump boos the home team!

The only dline/pass rusher I'd want at that pick is Clowney (unless there's a significant trade down).  Does anyone here believe Mack/Barr has a 15 sack NFL season in them?   I'd go Watkins in your scenario (not mine though).  Then grab a pass rusher in FA and hope you hit on a diamond in the rough in the mid rounds.  The biggest problem with picking Watkins is that you still need an elite pass rusher and an elite QB.  But if you believe those players aren't there at #3, picking the guy anyway doesn't solve the problem either.

Trade down, stack picks in the first 5 rounds. Plenty of starters are available and this roster needs plenty of guys. Guys like Gratz, Sanders and Shorts are the benchmark of what we can get in the mid rounds.

The problem with most fans is we think that we need an "Elite QB" to win. We don't. Look at the last few Superbowls...

Wilson - Not Elite

Peyton - Elite

Kaep - Not Elite

Flacco - Not Elite

Eli - Not Elite

Brady - Elite

Elite or not it doesn't matter, you need to build a team to win and to do this you either need incredible luck or you need plenty of draft picks and plenty of cheapish FA's. Sure having a guy like Brady or Manning or Rodgers helps but these guys don't grow on tree's and we don't need one of them.

I've said it elsewhere but getting 10 picks in the first 5 rounds would be awesome. Mayock said this years top 20 is like last years top 10 so trade down to the teens, grab some extra picks for it and we'll still be getting a top level player.

Nah, we are gonna take Mack or trade back

No reason to over draft on a qb

He better be the next Lawrence Taylor if we were to take a linebacker at 3.

DE/LEO. He may be the best pure rusher outside of Clowney.

Kaepernick didn't win one. He just got there.

I voted for Manziel because he is a dual-threat quarterback and draft experts rank him higher than Bortles.

So you rely on others to make decisions for you? Bortles Can almost be considered dual threat
