Dilfer on what Lawrence is not- a Sure thing

Due to my fandom of the Jags until he actually declares, then I will be holding my breath. Just like when Luck decided he was going to go back to college for one more year. This is a Huuuuuuuge moment in time for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Probably the 2nd biggest non-during-season moment other than drafting Big Boselli. We show less advertisements to registered users. Dilfer also called Dwayne Haskins a sure fire qb, it’s a crap shoot, nobody really knows. But Trevor seems to check virtually all the boxes.

There are no sure things in life, but if you play the odds, you'll hit big more often than other teams will. We'll just have to see what happens, but there is reason to be very optimistic. Just going by the eyeball test, we've never had a QB with Lawrence's skill set.
In all the highlights one watched of him, I see the exact opposite, quick thriws. One play he threw a 81 yard TD, (46 in the air) it was less than 3 secs from playaction to stepping into his throw. That's not long delivery that's pretty damn fast.

Sounds like you're talking about decision making. Delivery is an aspect of his throwing mechanics, i.e. how long from the time he starts his throwing motion to the time the ball leaves his hand. Three seconds would be horribly slow, lol. I'd say based on what I've seen that TL has ok mechanics but there are definitely things he could tighten up. He has a bit of a windup which is probably not surprising given his height. Nothing that should cause to much concern.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

I watched a few highlights also, and I didn't see a windup. At least, not like Byron Leftwich. I’d be interested to see how’s Byrons would compare.
Lawrence does bring the ball back a little more than the average QB, but his arm action is so fast it's still an above average release timing I bet. I would be more concerned that it leaves the ball open to be stripped by a DL more than it taking longer so a DB has time to react to it, which was the problem with Leftwich and Bortles.

Exactly, the day I take Dilfer at face value on anything jags related is the day they are in another market. I am sure T-law was a sure thing till the jags got 1st overall. Just like we were guaranteed to draft fields when we were second, but now the Jets are ‘too good’ to do that. The media literally wants us to make bad move cause we are the Jaguars. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his.
