Ray Rice

#1

So can't believe there hasn't been a thread on this yet. Ray Rice seen on video dragging his fiancee out of Atlantic City casino after he apparently knocked her out unconscious. And now they are both lawyring up. The story is they were fighting in the elevator (physically) and that was the end result.

I'm also surprised nobody made a thread about the Darren Sharper rape allegations, unless I missed it.

That video was pretty bad. I heard Stephen A Smith equating the way he dragged her out of the elevator like dragging out a bag of garbage. I can't say I disagree with that comparison. He's a big strong football player...you're telling me he couldn't pick her up instead of dragging her and plopping her face first on to the ground??

I'm interested in how the NFL and the Ravens are going to respond to this. After Rice's lackluster season, this can be very detrimental to his career. Not to mention a blow to his character as a person.

If the NFL is serious about their personal conduct policy, regardless of how the justice system plays out, Rice needs to be suspended for the first 8 games of the season.

Regardless if his gf initiated the incident, if true he should have never hit her or even made contact. Be a man and walk away.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Well let's be fair to Ray Rice. He was in an elevator and couldn't walk away...

I think you go down a slippery slope suspending players before they are found guilty of anything IMO.

ehh even if she was jumping on him and trying to slap/punch him any chance of a real defense goes out the window with the dragging vid. He will certainly be found guilty of assault and battery and given his status the lawyers of his wife will push for harsh sanctions - IE Assault and Battery with the intent to inflict bodily harm.

He is a strong dude that video shows dragging an unconscious woman from an elevator in a violent manner with little regard for her well being. Had he gently picked her up and walked out the elevator he might have had a chance but at this point he's as good as done.

I was making a joke in very poor taste.

How about if she spat on him before entering or after exiting the elevator walking away once the door opens especially with him having  twice the size and strength advantage.

Players can still be disclipned according to the personal conduct policy even without being charged where the comminisher sees fit.

It was a joke. You said he should have walked away. He was in an elevator. There was no where to go. Don't have emoticon options on the phone, we need to get those!

I dont really see anything remotely sarcastic about this.

If his (alleged) punch rendered her unconscious and possibly put her health in serious jeopardy to the brink of death, how hard would it be to find some humor in it? Just curious.

P.S. I not trying to be a dick  moron or anything.
