Hypothetical Trade idea - Deshaun Watson

Age + Talent they are 1a and 1b. So yes, I would bet my money on the guy i've seen play at a top 5 level over a college player who is hyped, not proven. Let's cool the jets on Josh Allen, he has had one good year. He looks like he's going to be a baller but also one has to wonder how much Stefon Diggs has to do with that. Allen has improved every year since he's been in the league. Same with drafting a player, im not gonna take who I feel was the best player in college or who has been the best player. I want to take who I feel will be the best player in the future or who will have the best career. This is Diggs first year with Allen and he had by far his best year and led the league in receiving, alot of his success could be because of Allen. Beasley also had his best year and led the league in receiving yards from the slot, the most by any WR from the slot since 2017
Here's an interesting fact: Deshaun Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract. He cannot be traded without his permission.
There are folks on this board who think Minshew is better than Lamar Jackson...I've learned that a lot on this board don't really know anything about QBs lol.
Anyway to answer the question. I wouldn't trade the #1 overall pick.

Absolutely not. You want Trevor to perform under that rookie contract and have $$ for other players. You’d have to pay Watson.

But to be fair, Houston sucks right now even with Watson, Miami is meh with Tua. Do you weaken Houston further by removing Watson but strengthen a conference opponent in the process? Probably.
I know there have been 6 pages, so I don't have the time to weed through and see if this has been mentioned:
No.

I doubt he would want to come here. I would think he would rather be traded to a team that is closer to contending.
Texans would have to offer a boat load of draft picks as well... i mean, high draft picks... 1st's 2nd's etc.
This thread has to be owned and operated by the Houston organization BEGGING us to make this ridiculous trade to get them out of the purgatory they are currently entering. Problem is if we do this we go through the purgatory instead of them so.....NO

If Josh Allen has proven himself based on one year to you, you musta been clamoring for Bortles extension in 2015 right? Josh Allen looks like he will be a stud but why would i pick Josh Allen over Watson when Watson has had multiple years under his belt playing at the same elite level Allen has this year?(01-11-2021, 08:00 AM)ChrisJagBoy Wrote: Let's cool the jets on Josh Allen, he has had one good year. Sadly tho on this forum if you don’t follow the sheep you get insulted. I form my own opinions these days when it comes to the draft because the so called experts are wrong 99% of the time. I have a somewhat informed opinion on trevor lawrence because unlike you, i didnt hear what espn said and watch his highlights and just agree with them based on nothing. Its the same reason i think justin fields being considered at the top of the draft is such a joke. Lawrence has potential based on his physical talent, which can be fantastic or it could mean nothing and the entire point of me saying id strongly consider Watson is because i know im getting a stud Qb where as even tho Lawrence could potentially be better, he has a much higher chance of not being as good. If you dont like my opinion thats fine tho. This is a forum aka a place for people to discuss things. If you wanna talk [BLEEP] go to r/roast or something lmao.

LOL Jefferson had a better season with Cousins than Diggs ever had And this is the first year Watson has over 26 TDs and you say "when Watson has had multiple years under his belt playing at the same elite level Allen has this year?" not to mention he had the best WR in the NFL. Meanwhile Watson before this year: 2017 1699 yards 19 TDs 8 ints 2018 4165 yards 26 TDs 9 ints 2019 3852 yards 26 TDs 12 ints ![]() ![]() ![]() Allen this year: 4544 yards and 37 TD 10 ints plus 8 more TDs rushing I am a fan, not a cheerleader. |
