No way do you franchise tag Cam Robinson. He's a below average LT so why waste the cap space? Cam isn't even on the top 10 list of free agent O-linemen. Not even listed as a 100 free agent.
It's a deep draft class for LT's so the Jags will likely select one with one of their top 4 picks. I could see the Jags signing one high-priced free agent but I would suspect they stick to more of the mid-tier free agents this time around so they don't get in the same cap trouble they've been in the past.

GM: Can't say tbh.
HC: Eric Beinemy (Lawrence becoming Mahomes is what we pray for out in jacksonville lol) OC: Jay Gruden (thought given the circumstances, our offense was nearly as bad as it could have been.) DC: Not Todd Wash Free agents re-signed: Cole Shatley Smoot S.Jones Outright Cut: Bryan Free Agent signings: WR - Chris Godwin (Bucs have too many WRs, basically take whichever they let go cuz they can't affordem all.) LT - Trent Williams (Bridge, but need to protect lawrence.) DL - Leonard Williams (Overrated IMO, but way better than what we have) FS - Justin Simons SS - Marcus Williams Draft: 1. Trevor Lawrence QB 21. Joseph Ossai DE 33. Pat Friermuth TE 46. Tyson Campbell CB 65. Christian Barmore IDL 102. Dazz Newsome WR 122. Trey Sermon RB
Robinson sucks. No way the jags should retain him.
Here is what pff thinks of Robinson https://www.pff.com/nfl/players/cam-robinson/11789 ![]()
GM: Ed Dodds
HC: Arthur Smith OC: Whoever Smith wants. DC: Wade Phillips Free agents re-signed: Keelan Cole Sidney Jones Dawuane Smoot Tyler Shatley Contracts Extended: DJ Chark Outright Cuts: None. I know this isn't popular, but there's little to be gained from cutting Taven Bryan now. The salary cap savings are negligible at best. We might as well bring him back to camp and roll the dice. We'll have a new defensive line coach and a new defensive coordinator. Give them one off-season to see if they can work any magic. If not, cut him at the end of preseason. I would note that multiple people said Hayden, but he's a free agent. Club Options Declined: Tyler Eifert Trade and value: None Free Agent signings: DL - Leonard Williams FS - Justin Simmons TE - Jonnu Smith Based upon the above, biggest needs in draft: QB, OT, SS, DL, CB Draft: 1. Trevor Lawrence 2-5: OT, SS, DL and CB in whatever order makes most sense from a value perspective, but likely SS fifth as safety is the position most likely to drop.
GM: Jeff Ireland or Martin Mayhew
HC: Doug Pederson (Let's Goooo) OC: Doug Pederson DC: Whom ever Doug wants Free agents re-signed: Cole- Back-up WR Shatley Back-up OL Smoot Back-up DL S.Jones - Back-up CB Herdon - Move him to the Nickel spot, he played well this year in a pinch when Hayden went down. Outright Cut: adds another 20M to CAP Eifert (Save 5M off CAP) Norwell (Saves 9M off CAP) Cann (Saves 5M off CAP) Free Agent signings: WR - Allen Robinson (He already "liked" Big Cat Country tweet about him coming back to Jags being an option) LT - Trent Williams DL - Leonard Williams OG - Brandon Scherff Draft: 1. (1) Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson 1. (25) Christian Barmore DL, Alabama 2. (33) Najee Harris RB, Alabama 2. (46) Eric Stokes CB, Georgia 3. (65) Jevon Holland S, Oregon 4. (102) Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida St. 4. (122) Ben Cleveland, OG, Georgia 5. (141) Kadrius Toney WR, Florida 5. (163) Jeremy Ruckert TE, Ohio St.

You're cutting Eifert, not re-signing O'Shaughnessy, not signing a free agent tight end and then waiting until a late fifth round pick to finally draft one? You also feel alright with protecting Lawrence by starting a rookie offensive lineman taken in the late 4th round? (01-09-2021, 06:13 AM)HolsterHusto Wrote: (Sort of based on what I think will happen)Being that Teryl Austin was the Defensive Coordinator under Urban Meyer with Florida in 2010, he could very realistically be in the mix for the Jaguars Defensive Coordinator position. Reportedly, Tennessee HC Mike Vrabel has serious interest in hiring Teryl Austin as DC Despite Austin only lasting half a season as Bengals DC in 2018, I still believe he's a highly skilled DC . With excellent leadership skills! I'm confident that former Jags and Lions CB Rashean Mathis, who played under Austin in Detroit for 2 seasons, would strongly support the Jags hiring Austin as DC.
