Mike Mayock thinks Khalil Mack should go #1 overall

#1

Now this is getting reallly interesting. After all that talk about Jadeveon Clowney or a quarterback should be the top pick, Mike Mayock said this:

"You talk about a kid like Clowney, who's just got superhuman abilities, versus this kid, and if I had a choice between the two, I think I'm taking Mack."

Interesting but I think he's just trying to stir the pot.

He'll go high.  It's not a crazy stretch.

He's gonna be our pick just reminds me of LT perfect LEO. The one thing I really notice about him is his unique movement skills never seen any one like him how he strides and moves to the ball I call it now he's a HOF player

Mike Mayock also praised Blaine Gabbert before the draft more the Cam Newton, Mack is a great player but no way he goes number 1

I dont think he is a LEO, he is too good in coverage for that, I rather him as pass rushing OLB in 4-3 like Von Miller

Mike Mayock was not predicting anything, just opining about Khalil Mack. The article I posted describes him as ideal for the 3-4 or a Von Miller type pass rusher in the 4-3.

I just want our team to get better with good players. I don't even care about what position anymore.

I think watkins might be where we go, especially if we're not taking a qb in the first and Clowney is off the board.  Take far and away the best offensive weapon since we'll need one.

So you think a receiver is more important than a pass rushing outside linebacker when we have to upgrade or Sam position?

He said something similar re: McCoy and Suh.

I think he'll go Top 5, not before Clowney, though.

If Teddy isn't available, hope we get Mack. He's gonna be a stud

And Russell Allen will be on the bench where he belongs if that happens.

Even if Teddy is available we might still get Mack. Caldwell does not sound confident there is a franchise quarterback in this draft.

Russell Allen owns Mack Truck.

Hmmmmm. You sure about that?

I'd take it.

Still want Teddy though.

What if the Texans pick Teddy?

Every scout has a different opinion.  And Mack is considered one of the best prospects in this draft so not a surprise that someone would have him #1.  And he seems to fit a description of what Mayock likes.  If you had two players, both equally productive, Mayock would prefer the guy that tries harder more consistently even if not quite as physically gifted.  Clearly Clowney is more physically gifted but doesnt have the same work ethic as a guy like Mack.  Both super productive.  Both highly rated.  But I'm not surprised Mayock would have him over Clowney.

Personally I'd be very content with Mack as our pick.
