But dual clutch is the same price and actually more efficient than manual.
And a hybrid transmission is even more efficient than that.
Stick shift is destined to disappear.

All those things are true but none of the alternatives are as engaging to drive as a manual. Assuming you know how to drive one.

The guy who organized the trip was at the rental counter begging them to find an automatic car. There were none.

My first drive experience outside of driver's ed in high school was my mom's '74 Ford F-100 pick-up. It was a "three on the tree" and I was terrified of it. Lol. After awhile I figured it out and loved it. I've always preferred stick shift over automatic. My SIL couldn't drive a stick to save her life and has no intention of learning. I told her she's missing out on living her best life.

The enhanced level of control (I'll decide when it's time to shift, thank you), coupled with the sheer power of the right drive train is what made it special.  
The math looks like this (V8 + 4 spd + 12 bolt posi = FUN).

Florida isn't too bad because it's so flat.   A city commute in a mountainous region takes it to a whole new level.

You pay your credit card (which you don't need an ID for) with your checking account (which you do need an ID for). The PayPal response was not fake.
