Overrated prospects

I'm just a kid, please stop with this "troll" stuff.

A lot of people talk about Manziel’s arm strength negatively, but I don’t see why. He has a very strong arm. From what I’ve seen, in terms of pure arm strength, I’d put him second above Bridgewater
and behind Mariota. He is able to throw the ball for chunks of yardage at a time through the air, and honestly he could probably throw it a whole lot further if he put his weight behind it (he has footwork issues which I’ll address later). One thing I was also pleasantly surprised with was his touch. He knows how to control the arc of the ball pretty well, but it’s not fantastic. I would also put him second in this category, with Mariota at third (Bridgewater is far and away the best touch passer in the country.) Anyway, I digress. He is also, as you can see from the statistics, very accurate. 80% accuracy against the best team in the country isn’t normal. It’s very good.

I am surprised no moderator has done anything about it yet.

Thank God we don't get many of these trolls.

Seriously guys, chill out. It's a message board. No big deal.

EDIT: Hey Nick Foles, if you're going to quote my work in your signature, would you mind giving me the credit for it? Thanks man, I appreciate it.

Yes. If you don't worship at the altar of Bridgewater, according to wiseman you are a troll.

A wonderous place where 2 tenths of a second can either make or cost these young athletes millions of dollars.  It's a stupid practice that way too much stock is put into.  So best of luck to the actual good players, because you can screw up an entire college career with one bad day here.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Quote:2nd this. There is no way he isn't overrated at this point. Unless he is the best DE ever, he won't live up to the hype at this point.

How can he be overrated when half this message board says he is overrated? He isnt an undisputed top pick like other players we have seen in the past.

In your last post you appeared to imply that what Johnny(or perhaps even Cam Newton) did ON THE COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL FIELD has "nothing to do with him/them as an NFL prospect". And that's just silly.

Watch closely, and you'll see that the combine is not for the best. Clowney for example doesn't NEED the combine. He could literally sit the whole thing out and still go #1. The combine is for players like Bortles and Gabbert. Guys who didn't impress the scouts enough actually "playing football", but are late risers since they supposedly size-up more to NFL standards than other players who clearly outplayed them in college.

Listen,

Everybody knew Luck and RG3 were going to be the top 2 QB picks midway through their final collegiate seasons. The combine, measurements, etc meant nothing for those guys, they were a lock for 1-and-2.

Same thing with Newton, everybody knew he was going number one because of his actual play on the field. The kid could have fumbled every interview he gave and still went number 1 that year.

So yes, I do think what Manziel did on the football field(which actually surpassed the achievements of top draft picks Newton, Luck, and RG3), does has a lot to do with him as an NFL product. At least 50/50 with the combine/measurements/interviews/tape, if not even more so, as with the QB examples I gave.

Overrated?

Barr - Not sold on him refining his tech.

Mike Evans - Dude is okay but he's not very athletic other than a good vertical , has suspect route running and is easily pushed around by DBs on the line and mid catch despite his size.

Blake Bortles - Dude literally pulled a Gabbert and came outta nowhere to suddenly be a top ranked QB prospect. Questionable arm despites his size he also carries  pocket awarness issues similiar to gabbys but not as defined.

Aside from the offensive tackles the entire first round is over-rated.

Clowney, a Derrick Harvey with 4.5 40 speed. Future bust.  Only has one pass rush move.  As Dee Ford said, a blind dog in a meat market.
