Draft Day Movie

This looks really silly. I'm going to take a guess that Kevin Costner trades up to the first overall pick for a QB?

It looks so silly I actually thought it was a joke when I saw the first ad.  So I laughed.  Then I realized it was real.

Yes, lets make a movie about the Cleveland Browns GM and their draft.

And release it the same year the Cleveland Browns fired their GM and Head Coach after one year.

THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.

RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

I think Costner would be better than Lombardo

Wait.

This is for real? I can't imagine many people would actually see this movie

Early screenings are getting average at best reviews. They are trying to trade up for the first overall pick for an outside linebacker played by Chadwick Boseman (actor in 42).

I will wait till it's on HBO in a couple months. Not wasting my money to see it in a theater

Don't they do that every year?  :teehee:

Rumor is that Costner made a deal with the Jaguars in the movie.  Apparently the Jaguars were the losers.

Do we move to London after we're had by the Browns? If they're trying to be accurate, shouldn't it be the Colts losing to the Browns? lol a 1st for Richardson, imagine what they would give up for an actual player

The trailer looks like the Gene Smith story. Underachieving GM getting pressured to build a winner and makes crazy moves because he knows better than everyone else.

If they wanted to make it real, Costner could get a paper cut that gets a staph infection. This could be decent, but I am skeptical of Costner's typically wooden performances.

Dan Anders is said to be playing the Jaguars Executive.  You might remember him as Police Officer #1 in Made in Cleveland.  Or as Large Man in Promised Land.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

As in a typical Costner sports movie, do they play up the love angle between him and some woman he is chasing after?  Tin Cup, Bull Durham, For the Love of the Game?  Maybe he has some secret love affair with Jennifer Garner while back in the film room.

Let me guess, the reason the draft is so late this year relates to this movie production being behind schedule or something?

Amirite?

Close.  May is a favorable month for TV ratings.  It's the month for sweeps, so they pushed it back to cook the books, so to speak.  They show good numbers in May (instead of April,) and NFL network gets to charge more for commercials.

Jennifer Garner's in it.

That's enough for my $6.75.

You could just rent Elektra for $1?

Early reviews indicate this could be as bad as The Postman.
