How Do We Get Rid of Gus Bradley?
|
I'm quite sure you're older than I, as well. I'm only a senior in high school; I turn eighteen in July. My use of 'art' was a euphemism, and I wholeheartedly agree with your appraisal of such journalistic methods to be low and inappropriate for most educated reading. Your posts on here are, by and large, charged with intent and intelligence, and I consider you to be one of the more reputable members of this message board. I was simply trying to have a bit of fun, is all. My apologies if I offended you in any way.

The thing I was griping about is surely very commonplace to you and seen from a much different perspective than my own. Understandably. I enjoy the overwhelming majority of your posting and thank you for the kind words. (I also commend your efforts in player analysis outside the board and wish you great success in your upcoming adventure overseas. I'm sure you'll do great things.) OK. ![]() ON TOPIC: It seems most agree that Gus and company would have to have an epically bad season in 2014 and possibly another to be terminated. Since many of us think he'll be here in 2015 again. What would have to happen in that season for him to be gone? - under .500 ? - worse than 5-11 ? - missing playoffs ?
Quote:Feel free to point out where I said it was unreasonable. So it can be silly but reasonable at the same time? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Care to explain how that works? I agree that the team improved and don't EXPECT regression either, but expectations are not the same as results and there has to be a minimum standard of what is expected next year or jobs are on the line. What people think that minimum standard is or should be is a perfectly reasonable and intelligent discussion topic and not in any way 'silly' or something that only 'they' (presumably the silly people who are beneath the great FBT) should take part in. Interesting. Obviously it would be dependent on what the 2014 record was too, so if by a bizarre quirk of fate we have a 10 win season next year, he probably gets himself a new contract based on that alone. I would say unless we have hit AT LEAST 18 wins in 3 years, there are going to be some seriously hot seats around. Quote:Just to be different, Bortles. Quote:Since many of us think he'll be here in 2015 again. What would have to happen in that season for him to be gone?I don't know what the benchmark would be. I'd assume that improvement over 2014 would be a given. I'm guessing that Khan, Caldwell and Bradley have an agreed-upon roadmap, and if the team deviates dramatically from that map in a bad way, you'd probably see some heads roll. I think suggesting Bradley's job is at risk this year is genuinely silly because it's not. If his job is in jeopardy, so is Caldwell's a year in. At this point it's ridiculous to suggest that either is in any danger of being fired. Based on what we've seen so far, it's more realistic to expect the improvement to continue. The only thing that could hamper that is if the team regresses as a result of serious injuries to key players, which I seriously doubt would cost either their job. All I ever said on the subject was that this is the type of conversations that are had on this board during the off season. You seem awfully bothered by my opinion on the matter, which I'm not quite sure why. Obsessed with my views? You're more than welcome to speculate on things that won't happen. Clearly you have a lot of free time. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Has TMD come round your house and taught you the art of talking in circles? Obsessed Sir? Me Sir? No sir! I just recognize sheer wit and genius when I read it... Or am replying to you being wrong on an internet message board, I thought with your 45 billion posts you would understand how it works by now. But I'm obviously the only one with free time. You are basing your idea on Gus Bradley's job being safe on continuous progression like its a cast iron fact we will get better, but progression next year is not guaranteed. I too think there will be continued progression and the chance of Bradley losing his job is thinner than Kate Moss after a sauna session, but it isn't certain is it? There are still expectations, and with expectations come the chance of failure. What those minimum expectations are is a very valid talking point. Quote:Just to be different, Bortles. Gus Bradley is a heck of a coach and very well respected around the league. It wouldn't matter who the coach is, until we can get a quarterback and talent around him we're going to be a 4-5 win team every year.
I remember this one.
Gus Bradley GENE SMITH is a heck of a GM coach and very well respected around the league.
idk I have an old tv box we could probably overnight air him to an undisclosed village in the congo, good luck getting back from there.
No pain, no gain.

I love the coach and I think he's become the face this franchise has desperately needed for years. I think he's gonna be the man leading us to our first Super Bowl win and possibly more. All because of his passion, optimism, energy, and leadership. Two more sub 5-win seasons.

All because of his passion, optimism, energy, and leadership. The title of this thread and your initial post contradict each other. If GM Dave works magic as many hope in this years draft, Gus will have more talent to work with this season but if he pulls out only 4 wins against poor teams I'm sure the owner will fire Gus & who knows maybe David too. And believe me. I love sandwiches.

Yeah, Kodiak....you're a good poster, but this thread title kinda sucks. It implies that Bradley is bad and asks how we can be done with him. Its too TMZ-ish...
thats TMZ-ish, :teehee:
AHHHH TMD YOUR BACK! Oh how I've missed you!!!! <3
