I feel like Bortles is going 1st overall....so where does that leave us?

Quote:I kind of wish the Texans would take Clowney. If they take Bortles or Teddy, I think O'Brien turns them into an All-Pro. Then that means we face 2 All-Pros twice a year for the next 10 years.

There's also the thought of Clowney putting things together and lining up opposite of Watt.

Yea.  Who cares what a HOF Defensive Linemen thinks

So that automatically means he's a great analyst and knows what he's talking about?

You probably think Terry Bradshaw is a genius because he's in the HOF too.

Quote:1. HOU - QB B. Bortles (who I think is the one QB Caldwell would want - just a guess)

2. STL - DE J. Clowney (or whoever trades up for him)

3. JAC - DE/OLB K. Mack (pass rushing beast with fire we need if QB not selected)

4. CLE - QB J. Manziel (they can have him)

5. OAK - OT J. Matthews

6. ATL - OT G. Robinson

7. TAM - WR S. Watkins

8. MIN - QB T. Bridgewater (may fall slightly, Geno Smith comparisons coming?)

9. BUF - WR M. Evans (rises to top 10 with that 4.4 40 time)

10. DET - OT T. Lewan or CB D. Dennard

If you're comparing Bridgewater to Geno Smith, then you haven't watched either of them play.  Completely different play styles.  But hey, they're both black so they must play the same, right? (end sarcasm rant)

I personally am not comparing him to Geno Smith.  I'm saying if he falls even lower than where I have him mocked (thus the "may fall slightly", comment), then the Geno Smith comparisons by the national pundits will start.  I realize Bridgewater won't drop to the 2nd round as Geno did, but people will start talking about them in the same sentence on draft day if Bridgewater even falls out of the top 10.  Watch and see.

That being said, I have read some things here and there about some comparing him to Geno due to his slight build, only decent running ability, success in college maybe not translating to the NFL, level of competition, etc, and yes way down the list probably because they are both black.  What is the big deal?  People compare Brady to Manning to Fouts to Marino all the time because they are slow, white guys who have had success standing in the pocket.

Exactly ^this

There are plenty of great players that don't have a clue what they're looking for scouting wise, that wasn't their job as a player.  Great player does not equal great talent evaluator.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I want Clowney, but I sure as heck don't want the Texans to grab him. If JJ Watt gets Clowney's motor going... Sweet baby Jesus. There would be blood on the field.

Quote:Would rather see the Jags trade for Kirk Cosuins and sign Tebow. Never thought I'd say that!!!! Gives 2 QBs that can play in the NFL and would only have to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for Cousins. That would leave us with our # 3 pick to help get a player that could be of help at another position. Would rather draft. Barr out of UCLA than Clowney and we could trade down that 3 pick to the 7-10 pick and get our 2nd round pick back that we give up to get cousins. Helps get plenty of future studs without breaking the bank.

Hahahahahaha...ahaha....ahhah.....Oh my God, you're serious.

That would leave us ZERO QBs who can play in the NFL, friend.

He's clearly trolling.  He just registered and only has made one post.  No one really believes any of that nonsense.
