I think one important thing to remember with all our opinions and what we thinks right or wrong is we are not in the interview rooms/zoom calls, when a team is trying to build the right culture it is vital to hit that part early.

A selection such as barmore where I’ve seen many analysts say he can be lazy and flashes when he decides to flash, so the pats who already hve that culture can bring that type of player in and hope the players around him can influence him, however we don’t have that culture yet so bringing those concerns to the building is a huge risk!

Most companies have turned people away in job interviews who could have been perfect for the job but interviews poorly. Very important factor which can change a draft board

I don't think the Patriots are going to have a "good culture" for much longer with Brady gone. In fact, you could see everything unravel pretty soon.

That’s funny because the same can be said about the armchair gms and the captain hindsight 5th year scouts. Difference being the “cheerleaders” are finding a way to enjoy the offseason when there is no real way to judge while the other d bags are just throwing a fit because they want to act like they know it better than the professionals.

This is the best one so far. You get the top safety, 2nd best tight end, a very good complimentary back and an edge rusher with a great motor in Ossai. Trey Smith and Nixon were fantastic value. I'm not totally sure if Jenkins will be a left or right tackle, but his versatility and mauling style would be welcome.

I still believe the Jaguars actual draft may turn out as well as this. Little and Cisco will determine whether this happens.

The only thing i'd change is this:
33. Teven Jenkins > Campbell
45. Friermuth > Walker Little

Now, if the henderson rumors are true, I'd stick with the original. If not, CB wasn't a need and Jenkins>Little and Friermuth > campbell.

Yeah, that's along the lines of what I was thinking too.  Was surprised we didn't go with Jenkins at 33, and go DB later.  Regardless, DB is harder to upgrade than tight end.

If Campbell would have slipped to 45, would you have picked him over Friermuth?

Thank you.  I think one of the things that is so frustrating to me and probably others is that the 2021 NFL draft fell in a way that was absolutely wonderful for the Jaguars.  Some years, there is no value available at need positions when you pick and you have to make the best of a bad situation.  Not this year.  We were handed almost dream picks where need equaled value.  The Jaguars then simply failed to capitalize on it.  That's frustrating.

I went into the draft seeing our needs ranked in the following in order:

1. Quarterback
2. Offensive Tackle
3. Tight End
4. Safety
5. Edge

Look at the order in my redraft.  With the exception of swapping tight end and safety, that's the exact order of my picks.  Under my scenario, we would have filled our top five needed positions with the best quarterback, the best safety, a first round offensive tackle, the second best tight end (and we knew going into the draft that the best tight end wasn't realistic) and an edge rusher that many considered a second round talent with some even having projected in the late first round.  Wow. Wow. Wow.  A great complimentary speedy running back was even available all of the way to our fifth round pick.  

Instead, we chose to take a very risky tackle versus a much more safe one, an inferior safety, an inferior edge, and a tight end that is so far inferior that he isn't even in the same ballpark and may not even make the team (assuming a fair competition).  Yes, under the actual draft, we got better depth at cornerback, but that was one of the least of my concerns going into the draft.  We also got a better complimentary running back which is a nicety, but doesn't come remotely close to all of the players we passed up.

I envisioned Kenneth Gainwell being the 4th RB taken in the draft and being selected in the middle of Round 3.  It will be interesting to see if the Eagles took advantage of an opportunity of being able to draft him in the upper part of Round 5 ( # 150 ) or if other teams considering a RB were correct to pass on him earlier.

Regarding Jermar Jefferson,  the Lions ended up drafting with pick # 257 near the completion of the draft,  I think he's good value selection. But the player who looked like he was going to jump out to me at # 257, Mississippi St. RB Kylin Hill, was taken by the Packers the previous pick.  Hill's more advanced receiving skills are the primary difference I would have preferred him over Jefferson, if available..

I think a lot of the skepticism about him came from his injury and the inability for teams to get a true gauge through a combine physical.

I had read somewhere that teams were having trouble accessing accurate medical information with him specifically.

I only say that because I dug into him as well because I was high on him going into the second round and couldn’t figure out why we passed on him with the 25th and 33rd pick. Then I read that somewhere.

There's a specific segment of this board who always is negative just as there are those who refuse to see the problems with what the team is doing. I'm a realist, who calls it as I see it both good and bad. Some of the stuff Urbs and Baalke did are just headscratchingly bad, but some of the sunshine pumpers here will have their teeth ground down before they admit it.
