Well we do need a CB

Agreed.  He's not an Eric Berry-like prospect.  Even in a trade down scenario, I'd still rather grab Donald.  I feel with Gus' system, we really don't have to draft a DB high anyway.

Its not as easy to get good value in a trade down as it seems

Fuller has been my favorite CB in this draft just about all year.

Are you talking about Aaron Donald? I like the guy, dude, but that's a massive reach. If they think he fits our system/culture, MAYBE trade up to the end of the first for him, but at 3? I highly doubt it.

After Clowney and Bridgewater... any of these guys could be considered a reach.

He is a definite possibility after that combine.

I think there is 0 chance he lasts past the top 15

Gaines from Rice looking pretty good in drills and ran a good 40.

Like Gaines a lot. Would be a very very solid day 3 pick.

reading this thread gives me much hope about caldwell's approach.  listen to everyone's opinion but keep his list close to the chest.  whether we trade down and gather lots of talent or pick the guy we have conviction in, caldwell is building this team with the right approach.

I doubt that.  I think Mack or Clowney is still a better option than him.  He will probably go top 15, so I would be fine with him around 8 or 10 or so.  He'd be a huge upgrade from Alualu

That really depends on how deep the draft is.

In this draft, it would seem that the value of the players still on the board in the second, third, and perhaps even fourth rounds are higher than the pick's value.

I get what you're saying.  Easier said than done, and it's always nicer to get the better end of the bargain.  But in this draft, the second, third, and maybe fourth round picks are probably going to net you players of a higher caliber than the same picks in other drafts.  It's really that deep this season.  A possible reason for that is all the extra underclassmen coming out, but really it's the luck of the draw... and this year, it's very good.

I hope we are looking at CB Kieth McGill I wonder where he is expected to go? Dude 6'3 211 and just ran a 4.47, Def a Gus Bradley type guy, his scouting report says he is a press CB, but is raw since he was a Juco transfer, would be nice in the 4th or 5th round

Me too he is that good, i'm not hoping for him or looking for him to go there, but if we drafted him at 3 I would be like great

I keep missing Jean-Baptiste in drills.

Dagnabit, McGill ran well but has been high & stiff in drills
