Post Combine Mock (I realize today is the last day but couldn't wait)

#21

Quote:yeah I had him on my FF team and he was much more productive in the 2nd half of the season

I'll admit I missed in on Brian Quick, thought he was gonna be a good one

He had one good game, against a Colts secondary that forgot to cover him, if you take that game away, he didn't clear 50 yards receiving in any one game the entire season. He actually dissapeared the second half of last season.

but he had 2 rushes for 50+ yards and a 98 yard punt return in the 2nd half as well

also consider who's throwing him the ball, if your leading receiver is a TE, that's usually not a good sign

It looks more and more likely that the Rams will pick Watkins. At 13 one of the top 3 tackles will be there, and Watkins IMO is a tier above all other WRs. Since theyre so commited to Bradford getting him an elite WR and good protection seem like the perfect combo.

IMO we are going to be guaranteed Teddy or Clowney.

I'm not doubting Austin's explosion, I just don't think he was worth the 8th pick in the draft, if you're drafting a receiver that high he should have immense upside, Austin doesn't. Your second statement kind of makes my point; Tavon Austin is a guy that will need an extremely accurate QB to maximize his potential, because his catch radius is so small. Justin Blackmon made Chad Henne better, AJ Green makes Andy Dalton better,, Juilo Jones makes Matt Ryan better etc.., we'll realistically never be able to say the same for Tavon Austin.

It's between Greg Robinson & Sammy Watkins, both have a chance to be amongst the 5 best players at their respective positions in the league.

I doubt one of the top 3 tackles will be there.  Falcons, Titans, Giants, and Bills all have needs.  And seeing as how some teams were drafting guards last year in the top 10, I wouldn't count out other teams drafting them as a RT.  Really good tackles go quick.  I think Rams lean more towards a big ugly rather than another receiver.  They can grab a very good receiver at 13 or in the second round.

I mocked them taking Watkins but I would take Greg Robinson, scouts are comparing him to Larry Allen.

There is 0 chance Crappolo goes in the first.

I would too.  They will likely have a hole at RT and their LT is coming off a big injury.  Either their LT is good to go and they get a great pair of bookends or their LT isn't the same and they get a quality LT prospect at a premium position.  Win-win for them.

Wait - everyone is griping about Garoppolo going in the first, how about Bortles going number 1 overall?

The Rams should really consider taking a QB , Sam Bradford is arguably the leagues most overpaid player considering his injury history and production, I'm certain they could get equal to better play from a Teddy Bridgewater or Johnny Manziel, both of which would cost a fraction of what they're paying Bradford, just my opinion however.

don't know about that, teams picking 6-12, almost every one has a need at OT

Out of the teams drafting 6-12, I can only see the Falcons & Giants drafting tackles.

Agreed. The rams go Robinson at 2 and take Mike Evans or BA-WR at 13.

Titans are losing their RT and Bills could use one too.

Both of those teams (imo) have bigger needs than offensive tackle, the offensive tackle positon is also one of the deeper positons in this draft. Mike Mayock recently said teams should be able to find starting caliber tackles in the 2nd and even early 3rd round, I think both teams will wait. One thing is for sure, and thats this draft is incredibly deep.

I think the Jets go with Austin Seferains-Jenkins or Jace Amarro personally, due to the depth of the WR class, but this is a pretty good mock. I could see Saints going QB 1st round, wouldnt have guessed Garrapollo but that is a good pick. Few years to develop behind Brees and with that lightening quick release, they could change hands at QB and see minimal drop off. Also, LOVE the Moncrief pick for 49'ers. Boldin's replacement and almost a clone of him, except faster. Crabtree, Davis and Moncrief will be a good trio and are big enough to duke it out with The Legion of Boom

You shouldnt get a "few years to develop" QB in the first round. Jmo
