Thats a good point. If Rodgers was thrown out there like Gabbert was from day one as a starter, who knows what would have became of him? Theres equally a chance he might have flamed out. All we can do is speculate at this point.

Thats not enough, cmon you know that. Its a good sign, - but until you see how a QB performs in the real thing, when coaches are specifically gameplanning on how to exploit weaknesses, on a week in week out basis,,,,,

 

Even Gabbert performed "adequately" in preseason of year 2. Yet it didn't translate to anything consistent in the reg season.

I don't think their agents are scared.  Just misguidedly arrogant, to a fault.  Their advice is the best, even if it turns out not to be in their client's best interest.

 

So, I suppose that makes them even bigger divas than their clients.

Absolutely.  Plus, those who threw gained ground (specifically McCarron and Bortles.)  Unless I'm mistaken, they also fully participated in all other drills, too.

 

The irony of it all is... those who think throwing at the combine didn't matter, Pro Day throwing matters even less.  It's scripted, controlled, and a total layup.  At least with throwing at the combine there was something to gain... standing out among peers face to face.  There's absolutely nothing to gain on Pro Day.  Even the Gabberts of the world nail those.  It's only a chance to lose ground if it's not the ace it's expected to be.  Again... having to ace it just to stay put.

 

The only things that can happen on Pro Days are gimmicky stuff.  The one thing I think would be interesting is if Ted threw the entire day without his gloves.  It takes stuff like that to stand out.  Running in street shoes, doing drills out of position (for tweeners and athletes), etc., etc...
