Teddy Bridgewater is a legit 6'3 and 214, now hush.

Quote:So pirk who are your top QBs in this draft class?

I don't feel there is one.  I wouldn't take any in the top 10, and I've said this for a long, long time.  I'd rather pick up a McCarron in the second and a developmental guy later, with the expectation to keep looking.  No matter who we select this year, it's doubtful any of them will become a franchise guy and I expect to draft another soon.  I see no benefit in "settling for" any QB from this draft.  I simply don't see the answer here.  You can't manufacture a QB out of thin air.

I fully admit I'm no expert and that's my opinion.  Apparently, I seem to have to reiterate both those points.

Not true at all and you know this.  How many times have we seen teams pass on a guy at one that turns out to be the superior player?  Often.  Just because a team passes on him at number one does not mean anything.  It could be for various reasons; current roster, scouting problems, plain old poor drafting, etc.

I don't always disagree with you and you catch a hard time sometimes but this statement is entirely bogus.

What that illustrates is the unwarranted hype surrounding this not so strong crop of QBs.

Quote:Then why do you guys flare up like hemorrhoids whenever it's brought up?

If it's no big deal, just a drop in a bucket... then there's certainly no harm in doing it.  And certainly not worth getting yourself wound up over.  You guys are getting worse than the Genosis crowd last year.  How dare anyone question your worship.  What should it matter to you?  If someone has a differing opinion, why not let them?  Why do you feel you need to jump to your mancrush's defense for something you deem so insignificant?

That's not the sign of someone 100% secure.
Nobody is 100% secure... or nobody SHOULD be 100% secure.

I also fail to see where anyone isn't letting you have your opinion.  Your opinion is what exactly?  You don't think Bridgewater or this QB class is worth taking at #3?  OK.... that's fine.

"How dare anyone question your worship" is where you lose all credibility with your argument.  Nobody is worshipping anyone.  Some people like Teddy Bridgewater as a QB, some like him a lot.  I'm not certain he will be a franchise saving QB, but I think he has a good chance of being a very good QB.  His measurables are OK and have indicated that the whole "wearing gloves because he has small hands" is overblown.  It might just be that he is more comfortable with gloves or even superstitious.  Athletes can be weird.  Now if his hands measured in at an alarmingly small size, then your issue with him wearing gloves would have more merit.

He didn't really have a fumbling problem in college, and has impressed me a lot.  QB is our biggest need.  I think he's worth the #3 selection because of his pocket poise and accuracy, so I hope he's there for us to take him.

Now, if you call that "worship" then you shouldn't discuss football.

That's only one of several possibilities in this equation though and the Texans passing on Teddy or any QB could be for a number of reasons besides this.

I'm not saying this is a strong crop of QBs...it's really no different than any other year outside of Andrew Luck.

exactly.  This year was supposed to be a pretty good year but Mariota and Hundley pulled out so that made it weaker at the top.

There is no slam dunk Andrew Luck type this year, but that's fine.

No one is flaring up but you sound like JaguarWoman with a stupid claim like that.

No, that's bad. If you pay a top five pick for average rather than elite you have no business selecting NFL players.

Oh, I must have missed there are 2 types of QBs:  Average, and ELITE.  My bad.

And of course I don't have any business selecting NFL players.  None of us do, including you.

I'm here to discuss.  All it appears you're here for is to dismiss.  So be it.

Because we'd likely be selecting another QB in the next few years anyway.  Just like the last time we took one in the top 10... while the teams that avoided the landmines at the top, selected QBs later that took them to the Super Bowl.  You can't force a pick if it isn't there, and you never settle for what's available in only one singular moment in time.  I don't believe there's a QB out there this year, FA or draft, that ends that search in 2014.

Ok, let's discuss then. I'm still waiting to hear why it would matter if Teddy doesn't like throwing without a glove.

Quote:In your opinion.

If that's who he is, then he undoubtedly will be a Texan.

However, if they don't select him that tells the opposite tale.

Or maybe the texans just get it wrong.........

Feel free to point out the post where I was wound up. As I've said before, Bridgewater isn't a perfect prospect, but pointing out the fact he throws with a glove is simply nitpicking.

LOL....Hundley pulling out of the draft made the QB draft actually stronger at the top (in actual good QB there) Laughing

Well it gives the draft another Carr-like prospect.. I don't like Carr either, but if you have more than a few of them, the draft is perceived as deeper and therefore better.

I know,  I was being facetious suggesting that it meant that Hundley would likely be drafted towards the top, (but undeserving) similar to my views on Mariota.
