One of the reason I hate double standards so much is that it lends itself to this level of discourse.

I agree wholeheartedly, double standards are are real problem when it comes to occupying the Capitol building.

I mean this is just a joke to you, right? You're not sincerely saying the picture you posted should be treated equally to Jan 6, are you?
If yes, ha ha, good one.
If no, wow, talk about asinine.

Those folks all went through the metal detector.

OK.  If everyone who entered the Capitol on Jan 6th had been naked (clearly not carrying weapons), would it still have been an "insurrection"?

Maybe.  Do they fight the cops in your scenario? Is an important, constitutionally mandated procedure taking place in the building at that moment?

Yup, just like the officers that opened and held the doors as they let them thru into the building in the first place. The man is an unmitigated coward.

No.  He did what he should have done.  There was a mob that had invaded the Capitol, and was smashing their way through various barricades, openly trying to interrupt a Constitutionally mandated process, trying to smash their way into the Congressional chamber, disobeying police commands to stop, and in my opinion, I wish they had shot more of them.

She was a wacko Q-anon conspiracy theorist who thought she could help enable the overthrow of an election.  He was a police officer sworn to uphold the law and defend the Capitol building.  She tried to force her way in, and so he shot her.

How many times have people on this forum said, you need to obey the police and you won't get shot?  And the very same people call him a murderer.

If the cops sell you drugs and then turn around and arrest you for possesion that is illegal entrapment. If one cop opens the door for you and allows entry into the building and then a cop inside kills you for being in there then that is murder IMO.

I get that argument, but this dude was in a completely different part of the building. It was one guy and a mob was coming at him. Did you watch the video?

Yes, but the left established that standard. I am making an appeal for those on the right to not use that standard, but let's not forget who started it. Rules for thee, but not for me. It's got to go.

Bro, that coward shot her as she was crawling through a doorway. Scary stuff right there. Cowardly piece of garbage needs to be held to the same standards as the guy who took down a struggling guy that KICKED his way out of a patrol car. Cause if my 6'2" 230lb [BLEEP] did that they would have just beaten me to death in Jville.

And ya know what? You should absolve Kyle Rittenhouse then. Seriously. Cause he actually was being attacked unlike this coward who left his loaded Glock 22 in the men's room... like a piece of garbage. He sucks. He deserves to lose his job. And his freedom. And the ONLY reason he isn't being held accountable? He's black. Period. He was a huge guy and she was a tiny woman... yet you lefties are all like OH NO!!! That tiny white cop shot that huge black guy.. HE'S A RACIST!!!

No argument from me on that.  The same standard should apply to everyone.   Unfortunately, there is massive hypocrisy on both sides of the political spectrum.

Unfortunately, there are people who specialize in manipulating emotions.

It's interesting to watch the evolution of thought. When Babbitt was shot, most conservatives thought it was unfortunate, but recognized she was in the wrong. Then the talking heads got involved. They pointed out the double standard from the left. Then they started using Babbitt's death to mock the left, then people started repeating it, and, before long, convinced themselves this was an unjust shooting.

Could it have been avoided by the officer? Probably. Could it have been avoided by Babbitt? Absolutely.

Imagine the outrage in this country if a 6'3" 260lb white man (fat-[BLEEP]) decided to shoot a tiny little black woman because she was crawling through a doorway.

Just. Imagine.

Yes.  The people who are calling the police officer a murderer would be calling him a hero.

You're consumed by the foaming at the mouth rhetoric spewing from the left.  How is it even possible to "overthrow" an election?  Government and the function thereof is not dependent upon a specific physical location.  Occupying the Capitol could never have done more than delay the event for a few hours.   They could have burned the place to the ground and the process simply would have continued at another location.

The process could only take place with a quorum of the 535 people needed all meeting physically in the same place.  If they managed to capture or kill members of Congress there could have been a very different outcome with no clear constitutional remedy. It wouldn't have taken many.
