There front 7 is pretty good but the secondary sucks.  I hope we can make some plays down field.

No....they aren't.

Casual fan.   Parsons, Smith, and Vander Esch is one of the best LB groups in the NFL.  Damarcus Lawrence is also a stud on the edge when healthy.  One of their biggest problems has been health

these. games. don't. matter.

I'd contend that playoff teams make for an easier PS, and maybe even distort your evaluation (assuming you perform better than we have) because more often than not your are playing their reserves while they keep their starters healthy.

We're 18 days away from playing our 1st regular season game and this *OR* [BLEEP] is getting real old. Good teams are built off of chemistry and trusting the guy next to you.

Hyde can't hold Robinson's jock strap.

Henderson has been the best CB on this roster since hes been back.

The QB rotation isn't doing any of them, or this Offense/Team in general any favors.

This *OR* game was fine in May and June and even July, but it's crunch time now... Make a [BLEEP] decision already and lets go.

well it all started when the GM was designated as Urbz OR Baalke.

Who was it, Denny Thompson of The Sports Den? Said he has seen the offensive playbook and what we have seen in the preseason is nowhere near what we are going to see in the regular season. We have seen a very, very vanilla offense in the 2 games so far. Design> Or lack of execution? We shall see. As to the defense, I think Cullen has sandbagged it some as well. For some reason it seems they are trying to keep from showing their hand. before the season starts so I expect the same vanilla offense and the same defense with the DB's not covering as tight in man to man as they will when the season starts. Both coordinators have blatantly said they aren't putting the good stuff on tape in preseason and Meyer said in a presser they (his coordinators) wouldn't let him run some things he wanted to run.

Call me crazy, but I think they are telling the truth on this one.

We'll see more in September.  Pre-week-3 will be more vanilla calls and coverages.

So when the regular season is underway and the schemes fail to work or are underwhelming will we say that the team should have been less vanilla in the preseason?
Edit, Jaguars need to less vanilla due to how bad Jaguars play regardless of preseason or regular season? Show something anything vs the Cowpersons to give the Jaguars team confidence?

Agreed but having said all of this, if we were truly good then even a vanilla offense would do more than we have shown so far so Tlaws comment just after yours has much merit as well.

In a vacuum that doesn't factor talent vs scheme and percentage of starters missing in preseason -  maybe that's true.

That vacuum doesn't exist, so we'll just have to wait and see how effective our actual starters are while running the full playbook.

I've seen teams with a wealth of talent go 0-4 or 1-3 in the preseason plenty of times. It has taught me not to get too carried away with August evaluation.

One thing that all reporters have said about Meyer since he has been here is that he has been very transparent. He isn't trying to be coy and play games. I expect them to open up some but I do not nearly as much as we will see in week 1.

Lambos injury was a hip thing right? It isn't far fetched to think he may not be me automatic anymore. It'll suck if it has affected him.

Yeah, I've been concerned about that as well.  I'm not sure I've ever heard of a player just blowing his hip out like that before.  Hope he can be Lambomatic again, but it's worrisome so far.

That means he'll miss Sunday's game.. So it's looking like we'll be without 4 of the 5 starters on the OL this game.

Start Luton, and whoever the dead last RB is on the depth chart. 3/5 was bad enough for Lawrence, don't even want Robinson out there either then.

Think Cam Robinson will be back?

Not sure. I read that Linder and Norwell were back practicing, but nothing about if they would play or not. Haven't seen anything about Cam.
