Who are your top 3 choices?
|
Since we have the 3rd overall pick in this yeas draft we are going to make a short list of players we would like to take come Draft Day. This list guarantees that we take 1 of our top 3 players instead of being dependent on the first 2 selections. *Also we can not trade up or down!
1. QB Teddy Bridgewater-If he is there at #3 then we thank god that we finally have a legitimate signal-caller. He is by far the most pro ready QB in this class and will be the starter form day 1. The media tried bashing his sock by saying that his 6'3" 195 lbs. frame wont last against big hits in the NFL. The Scouting combine shut that up quickly measuring at 6'2" 214 lbs. The only reason he is not the front runner QB in this class is because he played at a smaller school and against lesser talent, but doesn't that mean he had lesser talent around him? Look at his 2012-2013 Sugar Bowl game and how they upset #4 Florida. He didn't beat them by running up and down the field. He beat them the way a true NFL QB should win and that's with his arm. Also how many 1st round talent is around him on the offensive side of the ball? Compared to Johnny "wishes he could play pro" Football. 2. OLB Khalil Mack- If T. Bridgewater is off the board than we take the best player available that meets one of our needs. He can do it all he can tackle, rush the passer, stop the run, and yes play in coverage. And with the numbers he put up at the combine there is no weakness in his game. 4.18-20 yard shuffle, 4.65-40 time, 7.08-3 cone drill, 23-Bench Press, 128"-broad jump, and an unbelievable 40" Vertical. At 6'3" 251 lbs. He is the real deal! 3. DE Jadeveon Clowney- I originally had him at the #2 spot, but from getting an "OK" work ethic from his college coach to skipping the combine drills without informing anyone really raises questions about his motivation and passion for the game. Did he have a down Jr year because he didn't want to get hurt? or because of double teams or was it because he rested on reputation(Sophomore season: ie poor work ethic) and didn't want to put in the work during the offseason? With all that being said at 6'5" 266 lbs. this guy is an athletic FREAK! His measurables at the scouting combine are off the chart! 4.53-40 yard dash, 21-nench reps, 37.5"- Vertical, 124" broad jump, and 7.27- 3 cone drill. His performance really showcased his rare athleticism and with the right coaching he could be the best player in this draft. If Bridgewater and Mack are off the board then I would easily pull the trigger on Clowney. Thoughts? Who are your top 3? * Go Jaguars!!!!! We show less advertisements to registered users. Johnny-Really? He is all hype and wont last in the pros. He cant stay in the pocket and will get hurt at the next level because he looks to run way too much.
1. OT Jake Matthews - Texas A&M - Fifty sacks a year for two years in a row, and the logic is draft another quarterback. No, draft two. Our most pressing need is offensive line. Matthews is the best player in this draft.
2. OT Taylor Lewan - Michigan - Like Matthews, Lewan give you offensive line versatility. 3. OT Greg Robinson - Auburn - You give up superior pass protection for size. Robinson is terrific, but third because of no proven elite pass blocking talent. Not exactly a three-way tie atop the draft board, but three above the rest in terms of elite talent.

I like your thought process, but this O-line class is deep and I can see use getting valuable starters in the 2nd and 3rd round. Especially if we go QB in the 1st.

1. Bridgewater
2. Clowney 3. Bortles Quote:<div> Or so we hope. </div>
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
In no particular order: Bridgewater, Clowney, Manziel
My fourth would be Mack.
Clowney
Johnny Mack Unless FA pick ups change the above.
