Impressions From the Cardinals Game

I don't see anybody discrediting the Defense. I'm sure most of us know that the Defense played well enough for a W today.

Most might, the Cards didn't look flat or bored like a few said and agreed with. Our defense just played a good game until they got worn down

Our defense was average.

Need to keep the D off the field more. Using Robinson to chip away at yardage bought the defense some rest time and opened up more effective plays for the offense, i.e. made the opposing defense respect option plays.

31-19 is a considered a well game played? Wow.

Cards were 1-9 on 3rd down
Murray had zero passing TDs
Hopkins had 29 yrds
They were held to 3 ypc

Defense jus got worn down when the offense started turning the ball over and not moving the ball. 4 turnovers. Offense has 2 TDs in the last 2 games

The final score doesn't tell the whole story.

Agnew has as many TDs on returns the last 2 games as the offense does

You must not have watched the Cards first two games if you think the only difference was that our defense came to play. We have used the west coast trips fatiguing and throwing our players off their groove rationale for the franchises entire history, why is it so hard to believe the opposite is true? Especially since we make that excuse while gaining 3 hours and they were losing time.

Considering we had the lead for the better part of 3 quarters against a team most considered vastly superior to ours...yes.

This team close, I just hope they don’t break before they figure it out.

At Indianapolis

Defense and special teams played great. #54 needs a timeout. We were 1 block on that flea-flicker from winning this game.

The Jaguars had a two score lead with 3:33 left in the 3rd quarter.  They played well for most of the game.  They just finished poorly.

There will come a day when we need a FG or extra point to win a game. Right now, I just don't trust Lambo to make such a kick.

I'm one who tries not to over-react to a player having a bad game.  I was probably more forgiving than most on here for his missed field goals in the first two games since they were at least long field goals.  However, missing the two extra points today is too much.  Under normal circumstance, I think he would be gone.  However, with a shortened week, I don't see them making a change before Thursday.  I think Lambo gets one final chance.  If he looks anything like the last three weeks, I can't believe that they don't make a change for the Titans game.

I got you

Thank you.

I am further sickened by Norwell.  That was a TD if he got the blocking.

And everyone is saying what a brilliant play call by Bevell.

I missed the entire game as I was traveling but two thoughts jump out as I look at the box score and read a bunch of reviews. Both of which could be totally off base. First, got the impression we played much better today. Still make too many mistakes but getting more competitive each week even against tougher opponents. Could be totally wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if by year end we're playing like a solid team that could dash a couple of playoff hopes. I think Urban will continue to adjust and trevor just needs more reps to learn what he can and can't do.

Second, not sure if Lambo is hurt or if maybe he just has the yips. Like Rick Ankiel who one day just couldn't throw it across home plate. Or chuck knoblach who couldn't throw it to first base. He may be mentally lost forever at this point. But sure hope he is just working through an injury. Dude was so automatic for us. And too young to be declining physically.

I don't know if I am saying brilliant.  Potentially brilliant?  Yeah.

Not misguided/boneheaded?  More apt.

Your first take isn't that far off, at least as it pertains to the competitiveness of the team in this game.  I could see us getting some wins if we play well.

Second take?  While I have heard the names you mentioned, I am profoundly baseball ignorant since I have not followed the sport since I was a pre-teen, so I can't speak to the analogies you draw.  However, I am thinking it's a combination of the injury and his confidence.  I think it's possible the injury may have had enough of an affect that it may have altered his mechanics and his mindset, such that his confidence is shot.

One thing about Urb is he hates to lose. We're gonna win one soon and go on a winning streak

I don't know about a win streak, but it sure would be nice to win these next three

@ Cincy
Tennessee
Miami @ London

Going into the bye with a.500 record, beating our hated rival (TN) and our biggest in state rival (Mia).
