Urban out and about

You think Shannahan, Carroll, Belicheck, Reid, Stefanski are out there doing this? My guess is that they are busting it in the office to try and get their teams off a 4 game skid if it were them. This team lacks the details in the game and it appears this could be a reason. It’s not even the BYE week. This is 2 days after a brutal Thursday night loss. As the leader of men, you set the example as a head coach.

If there could be any belief that urban were on the level of those guys then this sort of thing could be laughed off as him going to a bar after a late night of working his [BLEEP] off at the stadium.

However, this stuff came out pretty early in the evening, and he's not on those guys' level. Clearly he's not busting his [BLEEP] on film study and game planning until midnight then getting a night cap before he heads back to the stadium to sleep in his office. He's just out living it up because he's not actually a great football coach.

Khan hiring him reminds me of the fetish of certain voters to think it's better to put people in charge who have no experience in the field.

The good news is the Jags job will still likely be coveted by great GM candidates for at least a few more seasons since the hard part that usually causes guys to fail (finding a QB) is already done. Khan could bring a guy in and let him fire urban in just a few months, if he's smart.

Hopefully Khan learned something from keeping the previous clown shows around for years too long.

TDS still alive and well in this lad, let it go. You stole 2020 fair and square! Oh, and Kahn hasn't learned jack, Baalke hire is living proof. He's always had a hold-over from one regime to the next, he can't ever clean house for whatever reason... I'm not gonna crucify Meyer for this one, even though I think its a scummy thing to do when you're married with kids. I've never been a big night life guy, you get lit up and the next morning is always filled with headaches, regret, and self loathing. I got partying out of my system faster than a cheap burrito. How old is Meyer even, why is he out clubbing? LOL

Urban was definitely considering joining the Trojans in that moment.

She caught more balls than Jags receivers that night.

Urban wanted to see what a real tight end was like?

I had my doubts initially, but he absolutely loves the grind and it shows.

Maybe because he wasted some picks? wasted the FA money and all he has done in the off-season.

We are, by consensus, the worst team in the NFL coming into the season. There is no quick fix and it's doubtful any other coach could have done much better considering the quality of talent on this roster.

Do you seriously deny the improvement between the first game and Thursday's game?

Where did I deny improvement? there was improvement but not "much". We still lost, they still made dumb decisions, defense still crumbled at the start of the second half etc etc etc.

"Its is doubtful any other coach could have done much better"? hahaha really? you really believe that? if you do you are clueless

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

He’s definitely got an eye for talent.

Much to the delight of Jaguar fans, he’s clearly not done with the position.

I'd be surprised if this amounts to anything. I'm sure most would be glad to have a guy like tyreek Hill on the team. No one really has any morals when it comes to their football team.  And hanging out at a bar early in the evening and getting cozy with a girl this isn't your wife ranks pretty low on the list of things that'll get you fired in the nfl.  Seems like the type of thing that'll get you fired if the owner is looking for an excuse to do so

You don’t have to like him, but you can’t deny he’s the ultimate competitor. He’s always looking for that edge, always looking for a crack.

The fact that people wonder about his workplace instead of his family makes me sad. But this is a football message board, not family counseling.

Well I am no fan or hater of Urban Meyer (barely knew who he was when he was hired) I would say that he's done better than Gus for sure, the team feels like it fights. I won't say that in every instance the inexperienced guy is better but often times they are brought in because they can get the experience but they have something the experienced guy doesn't have and never will. The NFL is filled with inexperienced guys taking the reigns and doing good. Sometimes you go with the inexperienced guy over the guy who has 48 years of experience because the guy with 48 years will run your team into the ground.
