Nobody's saying the guy's a white knight. They're recognizing a likely setup when it's happened. There are others who's personal animosity won't let them acknowledge there's a lot to be suspicious about in that short video.

There's plenty to criticize right now about his performance as a HC without resorting to over the top righteous indignation.

I’ve never denied this looks bad. It does indeed, but apparently my view is considered forgiving because it isn’t biased with seething Meyer hate.

No.  Even Urban Meyer's wife didn't object to it.  The guy is a celebrity and he was at his own restaurant.  The whole thing was a total setup by some tramp trying to get 15 minutes of fame.

Not calling for his head, but also not going to deny that this may be writing on the wall. I get that they have ten days to prepare for the next game, take a day off, cool.

I get that he felt the need to blow off some steam, or visit an old friend (no idea if he has ties to the club), or got dragged along by whoever he was with, but this was a bad choice. Plenty of other ways to blow off steam that don't get you in the headlines.

If there could be any belief that urban were on the level of those guys then this sort of thing could be laughed off as him going to a bar after a late night of working his [BLEEP] off at the stadium.

However, this stuff came out pretty early in the evening, and he's not on those guys' level. Clearly he's not busting his [BLEEP] on film study and game planning until midnight then getting a night cap before he heads back to the stadium to sleep in his office. He's just out living it up because he's not actually a great football coach.

Khan hiring him reminds me of the fetish of certain voters to think it's better to put people in charge who have no experience in the field.

The good news is the Jags job will still likely be coveted by great GM candidates for at least a few more seasons since the hard part that usually causes guys to fail (finding a QB) is already done. Khan could bring a guy in and let him fire urban in just a few months, if he's smart.

Hopefully Khan learned something from keeping the previous clown shows around for years too long.

Well I am no fan or hater of Urban Meyer (barely knew who he was when he was hired) I would say that he's done better than Gus for sure, the team feels like it fights. I won't say that in every instance the inexperienced guy is better but often times they are brought in because they can get the experience but they have something the experienced guy doesn't have and never will. The NFL is filled with inexperienced guys taking the reigns and doing good. Sometimes you go with the inexperienced guy over the guy who has 48 years of experience because the guy with 48 years will run your team into the ground.

Not going to deny the man time off. Sure, he's making a disgusting amount of scratch to do his job, but there is no way anyone should be expected to spend 24-7 busting their brains trying to find that one thing that is going to magically turn this team into a winner. (spoiler, that one thing probably isn't even there to be found)

If he needed a night off, take a night off. If he wanted a tasty beverage, go somewhere and enjoy a tasty beverage. You want to see a band, go see a band. If you end up somewhere that folks are invading your privacy, trying to grind on you, putting any manner of drinks laced with who knows what in front of you while doing any of those, you're either a willing participant or you need to relocate yourself immediately.

In an of itself, this has next to no impact on our current or future wins and losses. Spending 3 more hours a week in the film room might, but if that leads to burnout or exhaustion, it may be more detriment than help. All we can do is hope that this or other distractions are not a trend or sign of things to come, and that Urbz is wise enough to be able to know how much effort is needed without being too much to lead this team well.

i not going to defend Myer but what a said world we live when individuals life revolves around how may likes they can get while they hide behind social media to video or post comments about friends or others.
the damage they cause is only now being reported with regard to sue asides and emotional problems in teens.  There was a time when people minded there own business and had to confront a person face to face if they had issues with them.  today spineless individuals can spread false lies and bully while they sit behind there computer and type away. I don't know how innocent or immoral what was videoed is, but I know every one has his or her moments that they look back on and regret.  You only hope it is not all over social media posted by someone who should mind there own business.

It's another notch on the long list of head scratchers that hes had since he was hired in January. This happened on Friday, 1 day after losing on prime time and going 0-4. Just not a good look all around.

And I'm sure his wife doesn't think it's a big nothing burger. I highly doubt she was very pleased to see some sweet young thing grinding on Urbs and him likely giving a little extra help with that hand of his.
