Meyers statements AFTER he got his [BLEEP] chewed by Khan come off like a guy that knows he's on thin ice and is setting the table for departure IMO.

Khan is all bark and no bite. Meyer may have gotten yelled at, but he knows he has a long leash. Khan isn't gonna fire him. Just look how long it took for him to finally get rid of Marrone and Caldwell after numerous screw ups. Hiring Meyer was all Khan's doing. If he fires him for this, he's gonna have to admit he made a massive mistake. He's not gonna do that yet. He's gonna give Meyer a long time to turn things around and make him look like a genius. I don't see that ever happening though. I believe one day, Khan's gonna have to admit this was a bad hire. I just don't believe it will be anytime soon.

Just another example of his cluelessness and lack of situational awareness. The guy either just a moron can't help himself, so arrogant he thinks it doesn't matter, or he is trying to get fired.

It was a very stupid and tone deaf thing for him to say, especially given the situation. It's Meyer though, so it's expected. His arrogance is unfettered.

I truly, hope you are right. I hope Khan has learned from his past mistakes. They have cost this team dearly. I am making assumptions based on the past, because I have nothing else to go on. I hope he is let down and tired of the unnecessary mistakes that this team has made for years. I want him to care as much as we do. I just have to see it, before I believe it.

Conduct is tightly monitored in my company (medical devices), we have a HR guidelines relating to behavior, ethics, and compliance. Pretty sure UM’s actions, lack of remorse, disdain for authority would end up with his termination for violations of the code of conduct.
After seeing not one player stand up for him, or his statement that the players & veterans should get the team ready, or his pathetic apology it is clear he never had the trust of team.
It’s just been a [BLEEP] show from the beginning. Maybe he wants the USC job? My opinion is Meyer is a bad guy, arrogant, ego-centric, and has embarrassed this organization.
Khan needs to man up and make a change.

Khan spent 2 off-seasons setting up the job for Meyer. He got the GM for him, cleared cap space, and kept a lame duck coach and GM in place so they would get a top 2 pick. The entire thing was put in place before they decided to keep those 2.

He isn't firing him unless he has too because of outside pressure. His promises are empty and hollow, he never wants to admit he made a bad decision so he keeps pouring money into problems and hoping it fills the hole.

The fact that he wasn't on the team plane is either a huge fine or he should be fired. Players get let go because of that.

The one thing telling is that no player is coming forward to defend their coach.

I think the vast majority of players on the Jaguars that aren't rookies expected more from Urban Meyer after a grueling loss. This, from at least the standpoint that he would fly back to Jacksonville with the team, be part of a review of the game with his coaching staff the next morning, , and be available for any players that wanted to meet with him before the team had a mini-bye.   Not to mention, checking to see how players came out of the game from an injury standpoint.  These players know what's expected of an NFL HC from a dedication standpoint.

Meyer has the situational awareness of a blind, deaf and mute person. Or our POTUS. He doesn't seem to know how to "read the room" and respond accordingly. I didn't care one way or the other about his being hired as coach but he's made so many missteps (as a coach) already discussed here that I am wishing he hadn't been.

This whole Meyer debacle is such a perfect #becausejaguar moment. Sad story is my little nephew who is is 8 now use to be such a huge Jaguar fan since he was 3. He jumped ship to the Seahawks and I asked him why. Kids are blunt. He said "because the Jaguars suck they almost always lose." The statement was so true there was nothing I could say.

To me I don't care that he touched a hot piece.  I care that he is not being a leader of men. He didn't fly back with his team and study film after a loss is ridiculous.  He should be grinding hard at work and not with some hottie at the bar.    Right after an 0-4 start instead of trying to figure out ways to win, he is out partying.  I have not seen one player come forward to defend their coach.  That is telling.

If we get blown out this Sunday I would not be surprised to see him let go after the London game.  Could be before.  Khan needs to put his money where his mouth is and admit he made a mistake.  Lets see if the team continues it's trend of improvement.  If we go out there and put on a typical Jaguar performance the media is going to have a field day even more with this story.  With Meyer it's been one bad decision after the next.  It started with the lackluster pick at GM followed by many lackluster position coaches.

To Specify when I said no player has come forward to have his back or defend him that refers to the Locker room. I don't hear players coming forward saying they beleive in Urban and he has control of that locker room. I hear reports of players laughing at him.

Honestly I really don't see how anyone can defend this guy. I mean sure even if you don't care about the actual contents of the video, what about everything else? What about the flat out lies he told at the press conference? The dude said they tried to pull him out on the dance floor, that's not what the video's' showed. What a out the theme of this season, own it? He didn't own anything, couldn't even meet with all the players at once like a man and say what exactly he did. I just watched a video on YouTube and in the video they mentioned how we will be only the 3rd team to ever lose 20 straight....he's had extra time to prepare for the Titans, if he's not fired before the game and we still lose...how does he stay?

Seriously I barely knew who Urban was before the season but after he was hired I heard about one mistake after another. I had no idea what his past was other than he coached in college. Man....what a train wreck.

he apologized for being in a situation where he said was innocent girl grinding on him trying to get him to dance floor and he refused to go. after that apology came the second video telling a completly different story and he has not apologized for that or the lies of the first apology he just came on his show and said im not responsible for getting players ready for tacks they are resposible themselfs i expect this wont sit well with the ownership and he will be resigning by morning.

Haha. No. If I was, I would be either trying to enjoy coaching my favorite team even though we are in this horrible losing streak that I mostly inherited, or I would be ignoring criticism from the penut gallery as I got ready to coach the next game to hopefully a win.

Couple of observations:

Shad Khan has never fired a coach mid-season.  Some would say he holds onto bad hires for too long, others might say he gives failing coaches plenty of time to turn things around, but the fact remains- he holds onto people until they have thoroughly and utterly failed. 

Even if Khan wanted to fire Meyer, and even if Meyer didn't want to be here any more, there's the question of how to get out of Meyer's contract.  In most cases, coaches prefer to get fired, because it means they have to get paid, and owners would prefer coaches resign, because it would usually mean they are giving up their rights under the contract.  There has been some speculation that since Khan wanted Meyer so much, Meyer might have gotten a contract that is very hard for Khan to get out of.  Guarantees, no morals clause, things like that.  It might cost Khan $50-$100 million to fire Meyer.   I'm sure Khan's lawyers are trying to figure a way out of that contract.  

I supported the hiring of Urban Meyer.  As of now, it looks like I was wrong.  Really, it's amazing how quickly this thing imploded.  Four games!  Wow.
