I watched the entire interview on his radio show with jp and lags. Dont take what he said out of context. He is preparing the team. He went through every question explaining what happened in Cincinnati and looking forward to the titans. There is a lot of good information there if you want to take the time. Either way, its on to the titans

Either way, its on to the titans What has this man done to make you so confident? He's never been an X's and O's coach - ever. He's always just been better at recruiting children than other coaches. That's why he openly says it's not his responsibility to prepare the team. He's a college coach that is clearly over his head in the NFL. So I ask again, without hyperbole, why do you have so much confidence in this man that proves time and time again that he's dishonest. They think he's a joke. I give Khan's lawyers till the bye week to figure the least expensive way out of this contract and he's gone. https://twitter.com/MikeSilver/status/14...84243?s=20 (10-06-2021, 10:12 AM)NYC4jags Wrote:(10-06-2021, 10:04 AM)Jag88 Wrote: I watched the entire interview on his radio show with jp and lags. Trevor really will be a generational guy if he succeeds despite this suck storm.

First, I luv our players but even if they are complaining which MAYBE some are, they arent the best at judging coaches. They have only been around losing coaches for the most part if they played for the jags! #2 i do have extreme confidence because this man wins. I seen it in Gainesville. This team could be 2-2 right now and maybe people would not be in such a bad mood. Yes he might not call his own plays but a lot of head coaches dont call their own plays. No big deal. I was more upset that marrone and gus got all those years than I would be about giving this coach a chance 4 games in and going forward. Also coach and Lawrence have a great relationship. That's huge. Look at all the head coach and qb combos

Newsflash.. the NFL is a million times harder than College. Why? Because 2% of College players make it to the NFL and then most of those fail at it. It's much, much harder.. and Urban can't cut it. You have an opinion - but I'm going to take the word of the young men who have spent the past 12-20 years of their lives being fostered by and having working relationships with coaches when it comes to the topic of "coaches." #2 - Name one good thing he's done since being hired that should inspire confidence in Jags fans. It is odd that the owner doesn't learn from mistakes when it comes to sports. I guess it is a harder proposition than the business world but still it has been 9 years. Having a figure head on the Office side of things with TC didn't pan out, why would he hire Myer to do the same thing from the sideline?
Going to keep enjoy watching TLaw improve because that is basically what we have going for us.

Actually I'm a JAGS homer. I would pick watching a jags game over the gators any day or any other team. Anyways most coaches are just CEO. Dont fool youself. Let's just see how this season plays out and enjoy the games.
If we lose in Tennessee and in London I wonder if he survives the bye week

Just get Trevor through this season healthy and on to a real coach. However, if both games are blowouts it wouldn't shock me to see a coaching change during the bye week.
When Urban was selected I was initially not real pleased but bit my tongue. I felt he had gotten to Florida with two 2 year stints using other people's players at Bowling Green and Utah. I didn't believe he was a great coach or evaluator of talent. He was a manager. He surprised me at Florida and Ohio state, but then those two schools always have had superior talent to most other schools. Also he had great coordinators working under him. It did not surprise me him leaving Florida after Tim Tebow's last year as Dan Mullin had left the year before to Miss State. I know it is way too early, just what I was thinking back then.
Before the season I posted the Jaguars and Urban would be welcomed to the big boy NFL by the other teams and struggle the first half of the season. I expected they would regroup and rally the last half of the season.....actually they have been doing better than expected in my book. ps, it wouldn't surprise me if Urban finished out the season then bolted back to the College level. (USC) Time will tell....
A new broom always sweeps clean.

I think coach urban is over the college grind. Recruiting is a grind. I'm thinking he likes the nfl which in many ways is a bit easier. If he leaves the jags eventually, he will probably just go back to tv. However I think he wants to win for the jags. He says he wants the fans and the players to be proud of their team and I believe that. This guy could have just stayed fat happy, but he came back for a good reason. Give him some time, and he will get some good results

I mean sure even if you don't care about the actual contents of the video, what about everything else? What about the flat out lies he told at the press conference? The dude said they tried to pull him out on the dance floor, that's not what the video's' showed. What a out the theme of this season, own it? He didn't own anything, couldn't even meet with all the players at once like a man and say what exactly he did. I just watched a video on YouTube and in the video they mentioned how we will be only the 3rd team to ever lose 20 straight....he's had extra time to prepare for the Titans, if he's not fired before the game and we still lose...how does he stay?People from North Florida consider Urban Meyer a GOD. Do not expect any objectivity regarding anything Tim Tebow or Urban Meyer. (10-06-2021, 12:36 PM)Jag88 Wrote: I think coach urban is over the college grind. Recruiting is a grind. But comparatively speaking, the amount of hours an NFL HC needs to work from the days before training camp begins until the end of the season are much longer than the hours of a College Football HC. The off-season isn't a picnic for an NFL HC either. Staff changes, College All-Star Games, the NFL Combine, Free Agency, Draft travel, visits, and Draft preparation overall, the Rookie Minicamp, OTAs, and the Mandatory Minicamp, are all part of an NFL HC job description. Urban Meyer was one of the most successful College HCs for a long time. No one can take away those accomplishments. Yet, I have serious doubts that he has the commitment to be a successful NFL HC. At least from the standpoint of his body of work through this point in time.
