Thanks I appreciate that. You on the other hand are an incredibly articulate person. I guess we all cant be non-idiots.

If he leaves the jags eventually, he will probably just go back to tv. However I think he wants to win for the jags. He says he wants the fans and the players to be proud of their team and I believe that. This guy could have just stayed fat happy, but he came back for a good reason. Give him some time, and he will get some good results

I'm not saying recruiting is easy. But comparatively speaking, the amount of hours an NFL HC needs to work from the days before training camp begins until the end of the season are much longer than the hours of a College Football HC.

The off-season isn't a picnic for an NFL HC either. Staff changes,  College All-Star Games, the NFL Combine, Free Agency, Draft travel, visits, and Draft preparation overall, the Rookie Minicamp, OTAs, and the Mandatory Minicamp, are all part of an NFL HC job description.

Urban Meyer was one of the most successful College HCs for a long time.  No one can take away those accomplishments. Yet, I have serious doubts that he has the commitment to be a successful NFL HC.  At least from the standpoint of his body of work through this point in time.

Time will tell.  I respect your point of view.

College is a 9-5 job.

The NFL is literally 16-20 hours a day, every day.

He can't handle that. Never could.

To even think for one second that College is even close to as difficult as the NFL is ludicrous. And you've opened yourself up to insults by saying something that stupid.

I mean sure even if you don't care about the actual contents of the video, what about everything else? What about the flat out lies he told at the press conference? The dude said they tried to pull him out on the dance floor, that's not what the video's' showed. What a out the theme of this season, own it? He didn't own anything, couldn't even meet with all the players at once like a man and say what exactly he did. I just watched a video on YouTube and in the video they mentioned how we will be only the 3rd team to ever lose 20 straight....he's had extra time to prepare for the Titans, if he's not fired before the game and we still lose...how does he stay?

Seriously I barely knew who Urban was before the season but after he was hired I heard about one mistake after another. I had no idea what his past was other than he coached in college. Man....what a train wreck.
People from North Florida consider Urban Meyer a GOD. Do not expect any objectivity regarding anything Tim Tebow or Urban Meyer.

You got all these facts and information from a 9 second video.?

I don't think it. I know it. Mostly from interviews of coaches who were actually successful making the jump from College to the NFL. And also NFL coaches who go to College because the hours are easier.

They both can be time consuming.  I was just saying that recruiting is a unique grind like no other. The pressures of trying to convince a recruit and the competition and everything involved. I'm not worried about any insults. It's all good. We are here because we love the jags. I have my point of view and others have theirs. Let the insults fly. I'm a big dawg lol combat on contact.

Both the NFL and the  college game have their challenges.

I had this kind of thought when the news broke that Urban decided to go golfing instead of go to BYUs pro day. A lot of people thought he was being a boss by skipping the prospective #2 picks pro day as a gesture that we're all in on Tlaw. I saw it as a guy who probably isn't going to be very happy with the 100 hour NFL work weeks if he can't be bothered to go to a pro day since BYU had plenty of other draft worthy players.

Dudes walking away from the huddle smiling. This is a joke to them. They’ve moved on. If they ever cared.

He just had his media availability, and he apologized yet again. Time to move on away from the drama -distraction mistake- and back to football. Take it out on the titans and get that first win hopefully asap

You're incredibly foolish.

His apologies mean nothing.  He abandoned his team after a hard loss.  Strike one.  He was caught on video after said loss getting handsy in a bar.  Strike two.  He cancels his Monday meetings out of embarrassment, doesn't address the team as a whole, and then says it's not really his job to get the team ready for their game.  Strike three.

This is to say nothing of all the things he's done before now.  It's time to get him out of here.

If anyone has ever been in a football locker room as a player at any level… They knew how they’d handle the video part of the “scandal”. The other side of him not being on the plane is also “meh” at best. Y’all got sucked into caring by the national media.

These are grown men with wives, kids and families to protect.

Then this old man goes out and gets handsy with the only age group he can talk to, college kids.

His words will mean nothing. When he talks about respect - he has none. When he talks about no distractions - all he does is cause them. When he talks they just won't listen - that's the bottom line.

They never did. Jihad Ward has said no one really cares in the locker room, "We're all grown men." They just want to win football games. But let the unsubstantiated rumors fly along with the utterly stupid assertion that 'the team has given up on him'.

As this whole debacle fades, it will be satisfying to see us win some games, Meyer kept on for next season and watching the faces melt off of the Sorority of the Pearl Clutching Sisterhood of Self Righteousness.

The 31 other coaches were at the BYU Pro Day?

He didn't "abandon his team", they are perfectly capable of flying back home without "adult supervision". Strike one.
He was taking the weekend off like everybody else including team and staff.  Strike two.
His job is not to get the team ready for the game, that's what his staff is for.  Strike three.

I'll be glad when this non-story gets out of the media.

Actually, yes. At least in some form or fashion.

I agree with some of the comments before mine regarding the players. I would add the players are probably thinking wow our coach isn't such a stiff puppet lame. Its actually relatable when you see your boss let loose that one time a year. Unless you are a priest or you arent into women, then you can relate to letting some stress out at the bar. The married part he apologized for. Anyone who has been married 35 plus years gets my benefit of the doubt. That's not easy and if any of you think it is you are either lying or the luckiest person ever

Also lawrence said in his presser today everything is good. He respects his coach and they are working hard. He said he still respects urban. Go watch the reply. The most important player said it. Bottom line. A very good insight into the locker room in this press conference. Bottom line.

He said a lot of good things. The beginning was funny. He was given a birthday cake and one of his teammates was out there with him having fun.
