You know that the rookies are "inexperienced back up level talent"? Figured that out from all those reps we've seen or it is the complete trust in personnel management by this clown show that led you to that conclusion?

Which rookies do you think are getting the raw deals? Or is this more an argument of "change anything because what they're doing isn't working". I get the latter although I don't necessarily agree with it. You should always put the players on the field who you think gives you the best chance to win even if the team sucks. If I were a coach, the last thing I'd consider is the player's age.

Little, Cisco, Tufele, Smith and Farrell should all be starting or getting major rotation snaps this week.

They don't care about facts or reasoning. All they see is two wins. Who cares if we suck? We've doubled our win total. Let's just keep Meyer and maybe we'll be a good team by 2030.

Whether or not we are worse is debateable.  One could argue that we have won one more game this year, but one could also argue that we've been less competitive in our losses.  Last year, we lost a game in overtime.  How many games have we lost in overtime this year?  Zero.  Last year, we lost 4 games by three points or less.  This year, only 1 game.  

However, this misses the point.  The question isn't whether the team has made progress, it is whether the team has made significant progress.  The Jaguars had 5 draft picks in the top 65, extra late round picks, the top option on the waiver wire, and more salary cap room than any other team in the NFL.  Significant progress was the expectation.  Meyer clearly didn't come even remotely close.

Again, I ask, if we lose the rest of our games this year and then go 3-14 next year, are you happy with Meyer's performance because we have made "progress"?

Khan gave Dave Caldwell 8 years with his abysmal record. There is no way we fire Meyer after one season. I would like to see a new offensive staff brought in.

Absolutely.  One year of a mismanaged draft by Baalke and Meyer and the completely vacuous head coaching of Meyer makes me long for the good old days of the last regime.  We need better and fast.

Fix the O-Line!

Jimmy Johnsons first year he was 1-15. I bet most of you would of cried for him to be fired after year one. Aikman struggled as a rookie as well.

Urban Meyer should not be listed in the same paragraph with Jimmy Johnson.  Urban's all hat and no cattle.

Playing devil's advocate, you could make the argument that first year coaches coming to a franchise with little talent are rarely successful. I don't think you could have found any coach or FO that could win more than 3 or 4 games with this roster. I don't think that alone is enough to retain Meyer but if you're trying to find a positive, that's the only one I can think of right now.

This coach/FO was given a wealth of draft capital, free agency budget to spend, and the keys to the front office decision making.

"This roster" is squarely on Urban Meyer. He inherited a talent-poor roster. 
He had great opportunity to radically alter it. 

HE FAILED. 

Of course they can't fix everything in one year and some draft picks take development time, but what we are seeing is abject failure.

I don't know that this franchise as seen the ineptitude in the HC spot that we are seeing play out in front of us this season.

I do not expect Khan to fire Meyer this year.  But he should. (Baalke must go, too.) I don't know if you can hire a new coach and keep your DC, but we should try.  Cullen is doing a good job.  I like where the defense is going.  If we draft in the top 3 and we draft BAP, we should have another pass rusher to pair with Josh Allen.  Free agency should fix our needs at safety and CB.  Assuming competent front office moves, I think we will have a consistent top 10 defense.

The head coach hire has to be about Trevor and the offense.  Here are four coaches who should be at the top of our wish list:

Brian Daboll, OC, Bills.  He knows how to create mismatches with his scheme and how to adapt it to the talent he has.  He gets a large chunk of the credit for developing Josh Allen.

Josh McDaniels, OC, NE.  The changing and adapting offence the Patriots have used over the years has been designed by McDaniels.  It seems clear that Belichik will probably coach for another 5 years or so.  And though I have concerns about McDaniels leaving the Colts at the altar a couple of years ago, he is a talent to good to not consider.

Byron Leftwich, OC, TB.  The job that Byron has done in Tampa is eye opening.  He is the one who has taken the Brady offense and the Arians offense, melding them into a Super Bowl winning scheme and adapting it week to week to exploit the weaknesses of NFL defenses.  Plus, we know first hand his heart, will, and competitive drive.

Mike McDaniel, OC, SF.  McDaniel has been an integral contributor to the Shanahan offenses at several coach stops under both Mike and Kyle.  The Shanahan offense and tree are producing good results across the league.  I think it could be used to great effect with Trevor's talent.

Who else should we consider?

Eric Bienemy and Joe Brady should also be considerations IMO.  Mahomes raves about Bienemy and Joe Brady has had nothing at QB but continues to do what he can in Carolina.

But Johnny O says he has no reason at all to think that Khan will fire Meyer, so it's all a moot point.  Khan's a fool.
