Quote:ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports that all indications lead to Jacksonvilling not drafting a QB at #3, looking for player to make an impact immediately.

Good news. Because these quarterbacks especially Bridgewater are overrated.  That tells me that Caldwell still believes in his strong arm version of Matt Ryan, Gabbert and will be given the opportunity to win the starting job.  Looks like Jags will be drafting Clowney if available or Mack.  Sorry Bridgewater fans.
God I hate that i took the bait but hasn't Gabbert been given the opportunity to win the job every year for the past 3 years? And he continues to be awfully awful.

Yea Gabs is not ever taking a snap as a starting qb in the NFL anymore.

Newton, Kaep, Dalton, even Ponder and Locker have proven to be better qbs thus far.

This is what I would bet on at this point.  I don't think Caldwell is sold on any of the QB's, especially at #3.  I still think Bortles is the best, but he will probably be gone to Houston at #1.  So at #3, I hope Atlanta calls for a trade, gives us their 2nd round pick, they take Clowney (please somebody else take him) and we get K-Mack at #6.

Who is our strong armed Matt Ryan?????? What are you smoking????

Blaine Gabbert???

This might be my new favorite insult to sling around.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I have confirmed this with sources I know on the inside. Jags are definitely looking for impact player with their pick. Their top 10 picks for their board are in this order (and they don't want to trade out of top 10 if one should present itself):

1. Jadeveon Clowney

2a. Sammy Watkins (seems like there is flip flopping between Mack and Watkins as to whom will be #2 on final board)

2b. Khalil Mack

4. Greg Robinson

5. Darqueze Dennard

6. Eric Ebron

7. Hasean Clinton Dix

8. Taylor Lewan

9. C.J Mosley

10. Mike Evans

They don't have Jake Mathews on their top 10 because they don't feel he is a true LT talent (didn't like a lot of film from Rice game got dominated at times as well as other games). Also Bridgewater is the only QB they have 1st round grade on, but he isn't in their top 15.

Only 2 QBs have second round grades on them, I know one is Mettenberger, and Manziel surprisingly to me has a 3rd round grade (they feel that is where he would offer the most value, if they draft Manziel they would like him to sit for a year at minimum).

So there ya go folks

Bridgewater wouldn't be an impact player?

1st round impact yes. Top 10 level impact.....I guess not.

Also keep in mind that doesn't mean they wouldn't take him higher than where they have him listed talent wise....

QBs get pushed up all the time, but I think we would have to trade out of the top 5 for that to happen.

Bridgewater if drafted wouldn't be an impact player because Gabbert would win the startin job while Bridgewater holds the clipboard.
