In terms of what?

He still doesn’t want to get rid of Baalke?

This is what I have now heard.

The Rooney rule is what held up the final signing.

In that wait interim, khan basically thought they were rushing, and it didn’t sit right with him that Byron basically forced an ultimatum. He thinks by firing baalke he lets Byron “win”. He told Tony this is his team, and is now considering restarting the process of looking for a coach.

My source says it’s now 50/50 if this Wilson/ Leftwich deal goes through. Tony is trying but khan basically told his son to screw off because it’s his team. Not Tony’s.

Khan is literally the most toxic owner. I dare say he’s worst then Snyder at this point.

Edit: I for the life of me can not understand why Khan is so loyal to Baalke.

Snyder will always be the worst owner but man this is so bad.

I just can’t for the life of me see how Baalke is staying on. Everyone is applauding the Leftwich/Wilson move and yet Khan wants to possibly keep Baalke? Come on now.

If Shad does this and keeps Baalke, he'll regret it when he loses a large portion of the fanbase. I remember what an embarrassment it used to be when we had to basically tarp off many of the seats because of unsold tickets. It looked like the stadium was only half full on home games. If he keeps Baalke and lets Byron go somewhere else, that will happen again.

In the end it’s more then misguided loyalty. It’s Khans ego. He thinks he’s the smart owner and doesn’t like that others are “telling him what to do”. Which is ironic because the only way Baalke is staying on is probably because he convinced Khan that he wasn’t responsible for this mess of a roster

And then who’s the head coach? Bevell?!

Eberflus and Hackett have already signed elsewhere.

This is just surreal. It’s not just Byron. No coach worth hiring is going to want to work with Baalke. I’m sure Hackett and Eberflus were like “Oh, thank God!” when the Broncos and Bears came calling. We ARE going to end up with someone like Bevell who can’t get a job anywhere else as HC just like Baalke couldn’t get a job anywhere else as GM for three years before the Jags hired him and then promoted him.

As my old boss and mentor would say to Khan in this situation, “Is this (Baalke) REALLY the hill you want to die on?”

It’s unusual how quiet all the local reporters are this morning on social media after how active they’ve been all week

The best choice of the bunch is right under their noses. Bevell gives the Jags the best chance of pulling this all together. Trevor would welcome him with open arms.

Makes sense with what my sources are feeding me.

Two pieces of irony here:

The Rooney Rule may have cost two African-Americans a HC and GM position.

Leftwich is only asking for what Khan so eagerly have Meyer.

That’s just not true and you know it.

You can not trot Bevell out there next season and expect fans to be excited.

You never know what tweet is true and what tweet isn't. But, if it's true that Khan wants to keep Baalke and Byron doesn't want Baalke here, then go find a different coach. Or if Khan plans on letting Baalke go, fire Baalke, go find a new GM. And let that GM hire the coach. Its not that hard lol

The jags should be hiring the head coach sometime in the next 3 ot 4 business days. Fingers crossed.

any link or proof of this... nothing like starting a rumor....

I think SamusAranX hit the nail on the head. Khan knows that hiring Leftwich/Wilson is the right move, but doing so, at least in his eyes, means that he allowed someone else to tell him what to do with HIS team. He’s got this attitude that the fans, the media, the rest of the NFL, and even his own son (apparently) aren’t going to tell him what to do with HIS team.
