Pedersons Staff

So far, I am not jumping for joy over either Mike McCoy or Mike Caldwell, as rumored incoming hires by Pederson.

So does this mean Cisco finally gets to be the man? Playing in that Antoine Winfield role?!

Unles Cisco is Earl Thomas, which he isn't as much as I like him, I hope that Caldwell sprinkles in a lot more cover 2 than Bowles does. Single high is bad for business in today's NFL especially with all these alien rocket arms in the AFC.

One more piece to the puzzle added.

I like this move.

Devin White has been a pro-bowler and a 2nd team All-Pro. What are you taking about?

I still can’t get my head around the idea of having a competent coach that’s hiring a competent staff. It’s like not being broke the day before payday. When it finally happens, you keep expecting to find bills you forgot to pay.

I am too considering a week ago the consensus was we would have Bevell back next year and Shad Khan was the devil incarnate who needed to be dethroned by his son.

Lovie coached in Cincy?  Don’t remember that and can’t find anywhere in his bio where he was a D coordinator or position coach there.  Perhaps you are confusing him with Marvin Lewis?

Maybe that's why Cincy was more than patient with Lovie; because he wasn't their coach.  Perhaps that also explains why the Fire Lovie movement in Cincy didn't gain much traction during that period.

I'm talking about that 36.2 pff grade.

Don't just read numbers and stats. Actually watch the guy play.

My take of this so far at least these guys have NFL experience.

I still liked Cullen at dc i think over time he could have built a good defense.

Yeah. I'm sure you're tuning into every buccaneers game and are more of a wealth of knowledge than a group of professionals who review his every play. Gotcha.

I thought it was pretty well known that White sucked last year. That TampaBayTre guy who did the draft podcast with Solak before moving on to PFF recently complained about White damn near every week on the pod. I think there's probably room to quibble about PFF grades, obviously we all do to some extent, but y'all really think they miss so bad that elite players are graded horribly and vice versa?

If you watch the game/player and then look at that score, you should have a solid foundation upon which you can build your own opinion.

I had never seen PFF's number before today, and having seen it, I once again am left wondering why in the heck anyone pays attention to their grading.

Is that one game, one season, for his career? You know what, I don't care. White is a great LB and if Tampa doesn't want him and his 36.2, nearly every other team in the league would be making them an offer. Maybe we can trade Wingard for White, since PFF graded him so highly?

In three years he's made All Pro second team his second year, Pro Bowl third year, nothing his rookie year.

But yeah, he sucks.

Didn't say in the article - he did special teams and defensive line coaching with the Eagles.

I'm not either. Fangio would've been the only objective upgrade. Now, last year's newbie coordinator is getting replaced with another newbie coordinator. Cullen seemed to be growing into the role. The good news is that Caldwell will probably run a similar 3-4 blitz happy style.

I'm also happy that Pederson is sticking with experienced NFL coaches. Gus Bradley's staff had too much of a college flavor. I remember when Jedd Fisch was announced. What a dud he was. And the guy is now a terrible college HC. Urban's staff was also meh. Cullen was the lone bright spot.
