Washington woman who falsified test results on Navy sub parts gets 2.5 years in prison

The Navy has since spent $14 million and 50,000 hours of engineering work to assess the parts and risk to the submarines

A mineral expert was sentenced Monday to 2.5 years in prison after she falsified test results that measure the strength and toughness of steel used for parts to build U.S. Navy submarines for decades, placing sailors and military operations at risk, federal prosecutors said.
