Chad Henne Signs Two Year Deal

Without seeing the contract terms,  I think re-signing Chad Henne makes a great amount of sense for the Jaguars.   While Henne isn't a long term solution,  he's a good transition QB for the Jaguars.  Henne knows the system and he's a team player.

What really impressed me was when Henne stepped up as a leader when the Jaguars were 0-8 saying the team isn't out of the playoff race.  Realistically,  the Jaguars weren't going to the playoffs.  But Henne expected that his teammates would do what it takes to win as many games possible.    The team's 4 second half of the season wins came in large part because of the leadership of Gus Bradley and Henne.   As a result,  the Jaguars have something tangible to build on this off-season and beyond.

It'd be a good idea for everyone to stop referring to Henne as a good anything.

He's a transition QB, he's a backup QB, he's a starting QB. No matter what kind of QB you qualify him as he's a bad one. It's a sad testimony that right now he's essentially all we have.

Quote:Not understanding the concept above.... I'm the one citing the above stretch of chedule as ridiculously easy. Something you rarely see in todays NFL...

Are you citing the above as if its difficult??

The Jags roster wasn't as bad as you are trying to make it out to be. Them winning 4 games vs that schedule was no big accomplishment.

"The Jags roster wasn't as bad as you are trying to make it out to be. Them winning 4 games vs that schedule was no big accomplishment."

Not true, the Jags roster was one of the 2 or 3 worst rosters in the NFL, if not #1. The first 8 games of the year it looked like one of the alltime worst roster's in NFL history, possibly being only the 2nd team to go 0-16.

Winning 4 out of the last 8 games was a BIG accomplishment for that 2013 Jags team led by the lighning rod known as Chad Henne.

They weren't favored in any of those 4 wins and 3 of them were on the road. I know 2 of the teams they beat weren't very good, but the Jags weren't very good either. I still don't understand what happened to the much better Texans last year, except that the QB lost confidence and the losses just piled up and they steamrolled  to the #1 pick in the upcoming draft.

All the teams the depleted Jags beat last year fired their coach because they know they should not have lost to such a bad team.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

Two wins against a 2-14 team aren't something significant. Neither are wins against a titans or cleveland team that was imploding at the time. If the Jaguars played those teams in a different order I could easily see us going 0-16.

I agree with this post. I wanted the Jags to move on completely from Henne.

I'll agree to that. He's the worst starting QB we have ever had outside of Gabbert. I hope and pray that we end up with Teddy so that this nightmare can finally end.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

It appears he just finds every post from "Oklahoma" and just says "I agree".

Quote:Right, but this happened in the third year of GM John Schneider's contract, not the second year.  That's all I was saying.

OH OK, I didn't realize that it was the GM's 3rd year.

Another good thing if the Jags are following the Seattle model: Seattle still drafted a QB in the 3rd rd even though they had just signed a high-priced FA QB to a 3yr $26mil , $10 mil guaranteed contract.

This is why Seattle is a good team right now.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

It's not his fault I'm probably the most coherent and clearheaded poster on the board.

I've noticed you are falling in line with the Jags company line and of similar posters on this board that just shill. haha.

You used to be more independent as a poster before. I guess fitting in with the clique was more important to you.
