Honestly, I hope a lot of folks cancel their ticket purchases and cite this news as a reason. We have to vote with our $'s because nothing else will even register on Shad's radar. He honestly believes that he can just distract us long enough to weather the outrage and do what he wants (retain Baalke, give another game to London etc.) I doubt we could get an actual protest/rally going but there has to be some form of pushback by fans beyond the "Khlown" memes.
I'm not shocked at all by this development but it is disheartening. If Shad really believes that Baalke deserves a shot at the GM role completely seperate from Urban & co. I sincerely hope he allows Pederson the same courtesy and ousts Baalke first but my gut is telling me they're tied to the hip and that an EVP or other type of front office help just isn't on the way.
Championship Formula:
1) Draft Trevor Lawrence! 2) Play good physical Defense! 3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy! 4) ??? 5) Blank #2 6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Meh - I'm not tripping over this
Khan gave Caldwell an EVP and [BLEEP] just got exponentially worse instead of better. We overdrafted a RB and a pass rusher - then scared off two prized first round picks. Baalke barely has any prized talent to scare away and Pederson seems to understand the importance of building roster and scheme around his young, rising QB. Of course there are ways to screw this up, but if Pederson gets his way on roster input, they'll improve markedly between now and September. In fact - If Pederson has similar input on personnel to what Meyer supposedly had, then this even may be a better alternative to putting more cooks in the kitchen. Long shot, but I'm being optimistic here. I also believe there's a good chance Pederson survives and outlives Baalke's tenure in Jax - unless of course they collectively hit a home run this offseason - then they may both stick for a while.

That's not gonna happen. Baalke has final say and a history of not getting along with head coaches. Pederson will get whatever Baalke decides to give him and nothing more. There has been no indication of that. When Meyer was hired, Khan said at the press conference that Meyer would have final say on things. Khan never made any mention of the same kind of setup when Pederson was hired. I highly doubt that. If Baalke has made it this far, he's not going anywhere....... unless he and Khan "break up." Probably the only silver lining here is that Pedersen survived and even thrived under similar Owner/GM circumstances in Philly. Even after the SB win when things were getting more toxic he still got them to the playoffs twice. So he's used to this. Lets see how it goes.
The more immediate concern is can Baalke draft and attract FA worth a damn. Based on who ended up playing from last year, he gets a C-, IMO. Maybe that improves as we get people back from injury and they actually get playing time.

The problem with that statement is that you are actually listening to what khan is saying and forming an opinion like it is truth. This whole EVP or whatever position was one big lie from the outset trying to outlast the public outrage centered around the incompetence of Khan and all leadership involved with the Jacksonville Jaguars… shame on you Con man Khan for misleading the fan base in this way. What a pathetic scenario this whole thing is. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Just saw Pederson on NFL Net and he laid out a good plan that he and Baalke are following. He mentioned that the coaching and scouting staffs will also be on board in formulating the roster. The right pieces are in place!

"Putting the search on hold" LOL... Sorry Khan, but you can't put something on hold that you obviously never started, or had any plans on starting in the first place.
The snake survives ... what a shock. Just going to have to laugh when agents don't pick up the Jags calls.

To think anything else based on Baalke's history is pure fantasy.
Its Shad's team. He can do whatever he wants. This isn't what I wanted to hear. We'll see if Balke overrules Pederson's on FAs and draft picks. I'm very disappointed, what little optimism I had from DP's hire is quickly dissipating. What a shite-show.
I love how someone says Baalke doesn't know how to draft when the most recent example produced 5 -- maybe 6 -- starters. He knows how to draft. And he won't be doing it alone as Pederson mentioned about an hour ago.
