It's all just speculation. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
My hope is that Aiden Hutchinson kills it today and separates himself from Thibodeaux even more. That may entice another team to trade up for him. Possible candidates are:
1. Lions: Michigan product would be extremely popular pick. Detroit may be willing to part with pick 32 or 34 to get their guy. As much as I like Hutchinson, I'd take this deal in a heartbeat and then grab Thibodeaux, Ekwonu or Neal, although trading back again would be another option. If played smartly, they could get very good players at receiver, tight end, OL, Edge and linebacker by the middle of round 3. 2. Jets: They are loaded with 5 picks in the top 69. Would love to get picks 10, 35, 38 and 69. If the Jets decline that deal, I'd even take pick 110 instead of 69. 3. Eagles: They need an Edge and have picks 15, 16, 19, 51 and 83. Not crazy about dropping this far in Rd. 1, but I'd take 16, 19, 51 and 83 for sure. 4. Broncos/Falcons: Both need an Edge and have two 2nd rounders plus a high 3rd rounder. I'd take a deal with either for their 4 picks in rounds 1, 2 and 3. Would still have a top 9 pick. I believe one of these teams would go for this trade if Hutchinson blows it up today. If he replicates the reported 6.54 3 cone drill and does well in the other drills, it's not a stretch to believe one of these 5 teams will go for a trade. It would be hard for the Jaguars to pass on him, but this team has so many needs that they'd have to do it.
I've changed my mind 3 times already and it's only March. First I had Thibodeaux with his insane natural ability. Then Evan Neal with his athleticism and huge size. he could be the man to protect Trevor for years. I have to admit, I was put off by his deciding not to participate in the combine drills. Then watching the film on Icky. I love his work ethic and aggresiveness. He is just plain mean. Our running backs and Trevor would love him. I'm sure he could become a good pass protector. He is quite aware of the over setting issue. He'll get that fixed. I liked is combine on Friday. However, I think Hutch could be really really special. He has plenty of upside IMHO. His 3-cone really blew me away. right now I'm leaning toward him but Icky is right there too. wondering how many more times I'll change my mind before draft night. Of course, a lot will depend on free agency. That will be the tell. If they sign Armstead, then it's looking like Hutch or possibly trade down. Same if we tag Cam. If not, could be one of the tackles. I also really like Penning and Cross. Just not as much as Icky.
Surely it’s got to be Hutchinson. You can’t pass on a pass rusher at 1 imo
Tag/sign Cam, move Little to RT We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

I'm happy with any of Hutch, Thibs, Walker, or Hamilton. Get someone who can disrupt the game. We have like half of one player who we can count on to make a play when we get third and long.
I'm not happy but not upset with Neal or Cross. If the excuse is simply no matter what we have to get something to help Trevor, then get something to help Trevor. I am upset with Ekwonu. Do not get something that helps Robinson and Etienne and not Trevor. It would be beyond stupid to create a hole (by not tagging Cam) just to fill that hole with the most precious offseason asset we have, and then use that asset to downgrade Trevors pass protection. But, I think Baalke is beyond stupid so of course it wouldn't surprise me.
An matchup between Hutchinson vs Neal is the key. If we could line them up across from one another and snap the ball, who'll win on a consistent basis?
Time Will Tell. NH3...
"AZANE"
Hutchinson is almost like a clone of Jared Allen. Take a look at their measurables and they are almost identical, as was pointed out by Daniel Jeremiah. Hutchinson is also known to have the work ethic of Allen; his motor never stops. Allen had 128 sacks during his prime between 2004-13. His arms were slightly shorter than Hutchinson's, yet he still averaged about 13 sacks per year during this time and will very likely end up in Canton very soon.
Don't overthink this, Jaguars! Take Hutchinson, sign Noteboom or Moses in free agency and play Little at left tackle. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
For years I’ve read everyone screaming about BAP in the draft which I agree with, and with that said if any other team had the number one pick or we had minshew at qb, every one would take Hutchinson and there wouldn’t be a question. Every draft expert has Hutchinson as the best player in the draft.
Just because we’ve got Trevor shouldn’t change that. You take the best player at move on to the next pick. We don’t have the luxury of being picky (03-08-2022, 11:38 AM)Craigukjag Wrote: For years I’ve read everyone screaming about BAP in the draft which I agree with, and with that said if any other team had the number one pick or we had minshew at qb, every one would take Hutchinson and there wouldn’t be a question. Every draft expert has Hutchinson as the best player in the draft. I agree with your sentiments, but I have a hunch they will take one of the tackles due to not franchising Robinson. If that happens, I just hope they work out better than Luke Joeckel, who most experts believed was a "can't miss" player. Nothing against the 2 tackles, but Hutchinson just seems like a perfect fit for the defense. If they plan on taking Hutchinson, they can still sign a free agent like Noteboom or Moses and draft prospects like Abraham Lucas or Tyler Smith at the top of round 3 (although some have Smith going at the end of round 1).
